What's your top ten singles from the new millennium so far?, below are mine:
(Singles released in Australia in either 2000, 2001 or 2002)
1. Drive - Incubus
2. Don't Panic - Coldplay
3. Sing - Travis
4. Take a Picture - Filter
5. Island in the Sun - Weezer
6. Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
7. My Happiness - Powderfinger
8. Bent - Matchbox 20
9. Yellow - Coldplay
10. By The Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers
There's been a few others I could have easily fit into that list. For me, music wise, the new millennium has been largely disappointing and uninspiring.
IMO, the best music in the world is coming out of Britain largely, being Brit pop/rock or alternative. Moby my favourite dance/techno artist has released some good stuff as has Jamiroquai, though the dance/techno genres as a whole don't seem to be producing stuff as good as during the late 90s.
The r&b and rap/hip-hop genres IMO are very flat, repetitive and dull at the moment, I used to quite like some of the stuff from these genres but at the moment there's nothing to get me excited, the most inspiring artist for me from those genres at the moment is Eminem, and that's scary!
What are your thoughts on the music released so far this millennium?
Is there any stuff you really like or stuff you'd like to see more of?

Most new millenium music sucks. How anyone can tell the difference between all those god-awful R&B artists that all "feature" each other on tracks, the plastic anorexic teen girls and the insipid boy bands together with the drainer rock groups is beyond me.
I'll see if I can make it to 10.
1. The Hindu Times - Oasis
2. My Happiness - Powderfinger
3. Elevation - U2
4. Warning - Green Day
5. Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger (is this new millenium?)

7. What's My Age Again? - Blink 182
