Headline: PORT win first ever Final – One step away from a Grand Final
Mark Williams: It’s great to win our first ever final, and the way in which we were in control for the majority of the game was very pleasing. We look forward to the week off and to playing in our first Preliminary Final.
Port V Kangaroos

Roos: 12.9
Crowd: 32,753 at AAMI Stadium
Headline: PORT beat Roos when it counts – Port claims grand final ticket in its sixth year
Mark Williams: It’s great to win our first ever game against the Kangaroos, and for it to be in a Prelim makes it all the more special. In the end though, this game is history and we now look forward to the biggest game in Port Adelaide history.

Lions: 13.15
Crowd: 91,892 at MCG
Headline: PORT PREMIERS 2002
Mark Williams: What can I say? I’m so proud of this team and the Port Adelaide Football Club. To win a Grand Final at our first attempt is testament to the professionalism and never say die attitude of this great club.

Just a shame we don't get to knock off the cows in showdown 13 by 10 or so goals, other than that sounds pretty good.

Poetic licence has never fallen so short, and at the first hurdle no less . Hank I agree whole heartedly.
Sitting in that forward pocket, 20 minutes in, I myself could not contemplate how the team kept on finding another way to spoil all their work to date.
The positives are that I could not image the team playing that poorly again, and of course we have another opprtunity this week to begin to make amends.
Taking it week by week from this point on....
