Was absolutely disgusted with the performance the boys put in tonight, absolutely shocking.

One thing we can take a way from the game is that we played the worst I have ever seen us play, missed so many set shots, got crucified by the umps at every turn and we still only lost by 13 points to a team that played at their absolute best.

We should be hoping that Adelaide win against Brisbane so we don't have to go to Brisbane for a prelim.

While we played poorly I think that Colligwood shocked Port early and a few POrt players you know, that throat thing that should never be mentioned by a supporter...

Feel very bad, but have calmed down enough to not bag the coach and players.

Embarrassed.

Well done Collingwood. On the night you played better and more bravely than us.

Have finally worked out why you state that the monkey house is at Port Adelaide, as opposed to Exeter.......Foresight.
;)

Ahwell, Hopefully the monkey can return to the Bar nextweek.

Well I was going to give the monkeys a horrible death on Friday night but they survived and are now running wild. We'll get them though.

Interesting to see everyone already rubbing it in.
Amazing 2 losses in 16 weeks we don't hear a whimper, take the **** as much as you like but your day will come.

Shocking by Burgoyne, he actually played alright and looks on the verge of hitting some black magic form.
What about Chads kick to Kane, Meadies and Monties soft sitters, Stevens kick to Francou, our disposal and poor set shot kicking.
Don't just blame one.
Remember the last time monty made a blunder?
Collingwood round nine when he gave Josh Fraser the match winning goal!
Ban him from Collingwood games!

Hi Floodbuster, where have you been?

Hesitation is the reason we lost, every time a player looked like making a decision they hesitated for fear of stuffing up. You just can't play footy like that, you need to take risks and believe that even if you do make mistakes that your team mates will help you out of trouble.

You just can't hesitate all the time though, the players should have just made decisions and stuck with them on friday night and let their natural ability win the game. Instead they made a decision and then thought better of it and let the opposition fill the holes and make the pressure build.

Heartedly agree, Zombie. We were clearly intimidated by the finals atmosphere, and I do hope Choco tells the players to let themselves go this week.

got crucified by the umps? Your kidding yourself!! You had some moron ground announcer making up for everything that supposedly went against you.
You played bad? Pigs, you couldnt handle the pressure. I will not rate Tredrea until he performs under pressure and not against easy opponents. Presti killed him. Made him get his kicks on the wing where he wouldnt hurt us. As for Francou, he had more whinges than Mathew Richardson has ever had in his life. Beautiful to see.
The umps didnt do either side any justice like they did for you the week b4 against the lions. I hope you enjoy playing Essendon, they have got a point to prove against you and it would be funny if you lose, just to hear your fickle lot whinge (again). If (and thats a big IF) you win, enjoy playing Brisbane on thier home patch where they will win. Whoever plays Brisbane, I hope they belt the crap out of each other.
Also, Malthouse won the mind games, he had your lot thinking if they make a mistake, they lose and guess what?

Collingwood 16-12- 108
Port 14-11- 95

Enough said!!

I think one of the problems was that the players may of underestimated Collingwood and were probably more worried with not losing than winning. Which would expalin the second-guessing at times rather than just going for it. Maybe we would of been better of playing a Brisbane or an adelaide as we certainly wouldn't of underestimated either of them.

Now the monkey grows bigger and the pressure becomes even more, however one win and all is forgotten and it will be off to Brisbane to play our grand final a week early with nothing to lose. As we saw friday a team with nothing to lose can be a very dangerous thing.

Thanks for the kind words about the Pies. You need luck to win finals, and we had some luck with the umps. Until the Burgoyne "touched" goal I thought Port had had the better of dodgy decisions, but the men in white more than squared up by the end. I don't think it changed the outcome, but it leaves a sour taste.

Port has played the other three top sides in the last week for one huge win, one close fought win (match of the season really) and one close loss. That is a good spread, and bodes well for the future.

I don't think there's a monkey on your backs. We know about hoodoos at Collingwood-4 lost finals in a row is nothing mate.

You guys are a wonderful even side. I've posted before that you don't have the best list around, and make up for perhaps a tiny shortage of magic with organisation and great spirit. Please don't shout me down, I think Friday bore my point out. When you were challenged by a junior contender with fresher legs you didn't have the extra magic to extinguish us like Essendon did to the Eagles.

Next week will be about spirit and character, which Port has in spades. You may have faltered against the Pies because of the great expectations, but this is backs to the wall. You will have no difficulty taking the Bombers seriously, they are a grouse team and everyone knows it. This scenario suits you much better, and I think you will win.

Port Adelaide 'The Power' ( formerly 'The Magpies" ) : 34 S.A.N.F.L / ( pre 1990 V.F.L equivalent) Premierships & 2 AFL Night premierships

Now l thought the Port Adelaide Magpies where still around and the Power was a new South Australian Football Commision "Privatley Owned Club"much like their sister club the Adelaide Crows. Not Membership based and as shown Friday night with No Soul.
l agree with Eddie its time Collingwood took our Port Adelaide Magpie brothers under our wing as its obvious the Power would rather they where not around.

Yep all those premierships before WW2, if that (Collingwood) is as good as the Magpies get then the Magpie isn't really a symbol of strength. Perhaps Collingwood should take Norwood under their wings as both teams are over-rated and have achieved bugger all in recent memory!

Firstly. Collingwood played well. If you want to say you beat sh1t, then god help you win another game. But you did not. Some Port players made mistakes but they fought back repeatedly. Plenty of heart, maybe trying too hard. And lastly, the relationship between the Port Magpies and the PAFC is none of your damn business.

Firstly congratulations to Collingwood on a gutsy win. They were like the Duracell bunnies, kept going and going all night. That is to their credit, and they reaped the awards of that effort.

As to our effort it was dismal at best. The stupid thing about the game is that until Burgurs play on stuff up we were right in in it, and could have come away with a victory.
