Rate a program: Wide world of sports

Thought Id give this a go today.

Gave scant regard to simon gerrans and his win of the 15th stage of the tour de france.

Now a segment on the netball grand final - more of a sydney talkfest. michael slater not hiding his bias.

does anyone else watch this?

I watch it sometimes (just because I can't stand Sunrise and I actually want to see a detailed summary of the AFL results) but it is not that great. They seem to spend too much time on sports like netball, soccer and even union.

i guess theyre trying to give other sports a go, given that the footy shows are on afterwards. i cringe that slater and sutcliffe host, both very parocial about anything sydney

I can't stand the setup of the show. Give them some better seats to sit on FFS.

I lost all respect for Ken Sutcliffe when he was doing a review of the 2006 sports year on Nightline in late December 2006. He discussed the NRL for about 3 minutes and then when the presenter brought up AFL he spluttered and stammered and eventually said what a great win by "Perth" to defeat Sydney and how it stopped Sydney from back to back flags. He had NFI about AFL, which is not my gripe, however he was not even professional enough to do about 60 seconds of research so he did not look like a complete idiot.

so they shouldn't have talked about the netball grand final (an international competition as well) on a sports show. I guess it is there fault it does not have a Melbourne team in the final. ;)

dont have an issue with them talking about netball, in fact its good to give other sports a go other than the footy codes. :thumbsu:

Nowhere near as good as the Wide World of sports of the 80's and early 90s.

Complete rubbish, ken sutclife has to be the luckiest person on tv, the cross between whoevers in the sydney studio (except when JBs on) to Billy and tony jones is rubbish doesn't help that tony jones is an annoying twat either probably the worst sports show on the box
