How do you think they would go?
They should have a competitive team which will be great!

I am not sure on the strengths or weaknesses of the Qld comp so no one can really comment yet?
They will be a fast side though with many Aboriginal players.
They are to be known as Territory Thunder I believe but no guernsey has been chosen as yet.
A squad of 40 from the Darwin comp and 20 from Alice Springs have been selected but I reckon the majority of players will be selected from Darwin as it is the stronger league although paranoid Alice Springs residents will tell you otherwise and complain about the Berrimah line again for the 7895th time

Betting they'll finish mid pack winning most of their home games but struggling on the road.

As far as the strengths and weaknesses of the State League go, Mt Gravatt, Morningside and Southport are the power teams every year, and NT might find these games very difficult. The Lions Reserves have days when they look like an AFL side, and others where they look like anyone's reserves. Broadbeach have their moments. Labrador and Redlands are cellar-dwellers, and the Magpies traditionally are the same, back in the top league after a few years out. Not sure if Aspley are a promoted team...surely they're not a renamed Zillmere Eagles, who aren't there in 2009...wasn't paying attention to that one...!

5 games in Darwin, 4 in the Alice, plus two away games in Townsville and Cairns against Morningside and Mt Gravatt...I have no idea how good the NT players are, but if they can handle the split squad scenario between Alice Springs and Darwin, and if their junior record is anything to go by, there's no reason to suggest they couldn't make the finals in their first year...

7895th time the Berrimah line is included in football related arguments?!?!?

you are being mighty generous there erical

it would have to be at least around 987, 989 times that Berrimah line gets mentioned hahaha

Gents,
A question to everyone. N Ablett playing for broadbeach would be very enticing for G McKenna for the gold coast side. Whats the chances of him once the GC side is admitted to the AFL that he plays for them. He'd only be what 25-26?? Massive addition for them......

The NT have picked up some huge recruits over the official break. Handy pick ups are Shane throne and Iggy Velatio ( league BnF) they will be stronger then most expect....

Dont underestimate the NT side will have a very good midfield but may lack in key positions.

Exactly. Ruckman, CHF and CHB required before they will challenge for premiership honours. Some very good mid sized players but as with all NT Rep sides lacking in height.

Will tomorrow night's game be broadcast on radio or internet?

no.

abc radio have contractual obligations to the afl and will only be crossing for score updates in the nt no commentary.

NT Thunder has to learn to win on the Road, untill then WE (Thunder) will just float around the middle of the ladder.
