Quite the same margins as the usual Sunday night with Nine way ahead of Seven, but the ABC and Ten took some viewers from the big two as the repeat CSI and movie on Nine and Seven respectively pushed viewers to Foyles War and Rove.
Nine still took out the night with over 29% audience share, Seven will win the week with the Olympics on Friday and Sat night but i think they would win it regardless.
Some good figures last night for 60 minutes and Animal Emergency, BOTC did alright for Seven but their movie and the ThankYou rubbish didn't do well at all/

Decent nights for both Seven and Nine with Nine still holding a 2.2% lead in the WTD figures.
Seven didn't have it all their own way last night even though they won by a couple %, Seven news had a very good figure of over 1.7m, H&A beat T1/2M, their 2 docos won their slots but the repeat CH and CM couldn't match FWAW.
For Nine it was pretty much FWAW with 1.7m that got them over a 28% share last night, 1.7m for the 90 minute finale is impressive, even though the show is rubbish and should never be on Australian tv again (though it will be back after its good ratings this season).
Ten only managed a 16.6% share last night, ANTM did ok as did GNW, Friends just cleared 700k, which is good in the 6pm slot but not for 7pm.

Pretty normal TN share wise, Seven with a comfortable victory thanks to a repeat Wipeout on Nine and The Ones finale.
Seven did well with their news as usual but ACA crept up on TT and only lost due to Perth and Sydney, The One topped the night with 1.5m and All Saints won its slot but their shows after that came at least 3rd in their slots.
For Nine T1/2M and even the Wipeout repeat did quite well, and with ACA near TT they would be quite pleased with their share last night i would have thought.
Tens usual NCIS double did well, not as well as it had been doing a few weeks back but still good numbers.

Nine had a good win last night even if it was on the back of two of the worst shows going round, Hole in the Wall and Two and a Half Men, i guess when TT and ACA get decent figures why wouldn't other garbage.
For Seven, their usuals did well, but MMAS had a fairly average premiere, in fact it was woeful, it may improve as they get wittled down, maybe.
CM did well for a repeat, just on 1.3m.
Ten had an ok night, it was pretty much SYTYCD that got them over the 20% share, and SBS did alright with no Gruen Transfer, S&S with 1.35m and The New Inventors over 1.1m, but Freezing and Hollowmen didn't do that well.

I can't believe people watch Today Tonight and A Current Affair.
I love Two & A Half Men it's easily the funniest sitcom at the moment. Hole In The Wall is harmless fun but I found it a bit meh.
MMAS is cheap rubbish and rated accordingly.
Excellent ratings for one of Sevens best shows Criminal Minds. 1.3m for a rpt is pretty good.
Two and a Half men is hardly one of the worst shows going around.

I remember watching highlights of the Japanese Hole in the Wall on Youtube and thinking it was a blast. Channel 9 pulled all the same tired tricks by filling it with "celebrities", that guy who rivals Jackie O in fronting failed shows and really sucked the life out of it. Turned it off at the first ad break.
Can't believe the Olyroos match was delayed so 7 could screen that stupid Top Model ripoff.

Sorry about that, i didn't see your post before, i only get access to what everyone else does, i haven't yet paid for the full OzTAM listings and they rarely have shown Grand Designs figures, i'll keep it in mind next time i go look at some archived ratings.
Sorry 'SirBloodyIdiot' i should have said one of the worst 'highly rated' comedies in history, it being the #1 comedy in the US (recently) shows the quality of writers in Hollywood these days.

Interesting night last night, a few changes compared to last week.
Seven won the night, H&A did very well (esp. in Syd) for its 1 hour episode, which may give Seven some ideas for programming after the Olympics, while the Model crap did well and the Olyroos match did quite well also, impressive considering the delayed telecast.
For Nine, T1/2M was their top show, Getaway was hit slightly with some decent competition, CSI Miami Rpt did alright with 1m and TFS did quite well with over 1m combined.
Other figures incl SYTYCD with around 930k, Jack the Ripper on the ABC did well with just under 1m Today continues to win in Melbourne.

why did they push the hollowmen back to 9:30 certainly hurt the ratings.
the previous 3 weeks looked like this.
17 THE HOLLOWMEN ABC1 996,000 336,000 357,000 116,000 80,000 106,000
18 THE HOLLOWMEN ABC1 950,000 275,000 314,000 173,000 90,000 98,000
16 THE HOLLOWMEN ABC1 1,040,000 310,000 388,000 132,000 88,000 123,000
Freezing didn't come close this week, The ABC should support local production.
The Hollowmen was in the same slot it had been, it just didn't have the Gruen Transfer as a lead in. When the final episode is shown post the olympics it should be at 9pm.
Sorry 'SirBloodyIdiot' i should have said one of the worst 'highly rated' comedies in history, it being the #1 comedy in the US (recently) shows the quality of writers in Hollywood these days.
Probably fair, but it's still a pretty entertaining show IMO.
Probably fair, but it's still a pretty entertaining show IMO.
Just my opinion, obviously it is pretty popular and good on Nine for sticking with it.

Wow! I didn't expect the ceremony to be watched by so many people, the 3.307m is a massive figure, from around 10pm-1am, with Touching the Void shown after the ceremony i believe, pretty impressive figure for such a late showing, people mustn't have been able to get to sleep......
And this from Tribalmind..
"If Seven's programmers were worried that politics or pollution might put Australians off watching the Olympics, they can relax now. Last night an average of 3.3 million people in the mainland capitals watched the opening ceremony between 10 pm and 2am. Seven reports this morning that the peak audience was 4.4 million early in the coverage, and 2.5 million were still watching when the Australians marched in at the end of the event.
The Athens opening ceremony in 2004 was watched by 3.04 million, Sydney scored 6.5m in 2000 and Atlanta scored 3.08m in 1996."

As expected another huge share for Seven, and decent numbers throughout their coverage, 2.2m average in primetime with nothing much on is quite good, the 'Fringe' number i think would have included the end to the Mens Road Race.
The AFL didn't too bad considering the competition, 334k in Melb for St.k Coll is pretty good, obviously low figures in Sydney and Adelaide, Perth didn't to that badly.
For Nine, their news and AFHVS held up well agains the Olympic coverage, while the ABC was not far off Ten and Nine in total shares.
I would have hoped for more out of SBS, 8% share is quite good but with the Olympic coverage you'd be hoping for more.

Yep.
The program prior was horrid, so it was always going to get a soft lead in.
Anyone know how much Se7en paid for the Olympic rights and how much profit they expect to make on their investment?

The record-breaking $117 million dollar bid for the 2010 and 2012 Olympics from the Nine Network and Foxtel may have given the troubled network a shot in the arm but has raised questions on whether Nine and Foxtel have paid too much for the rights to the games.
The price is believed to be $28 million above what the current rights holder, the Seven Network, has paid for the games, and is more than 60% higher than what Seven paid for the 2006 Turin winter Olympics, and next year’s summer Olympics in Beijing.
