I'm looking for a guitar tab but can't find a tab site! I usually use tabcrawler.com but they're down at the moment.
Anyone have some tab sites I can use?
www.olga.net
They've got great tabs and some nice chord charts.

Don't bother.
Use your ears.
That's what they are for.
Most of those tab things are all wrong anyway.

It's not that hard with most of the crap that has come out since the early 90's. Just a few 5th chords, no lead. If there is a lead, it just doubles the melody of the lyrics.
There is music out there where it's nice to have the sheet music or tab. Particularly if the guitarist is using an alternate open tuning (I'm not talking about drop D).
For a long time, I couldn't get figure out a lot of Robert Johnson's tunes. I just figured the stories were true about him selling his soul to the devil. ;) After I learned the various tunings and capo placements he was fond of, it all came together.
Same could be said for a few numbers Jimmy Page wrote. Try learning 'The Rain Song' (Zep V) without knowing the tuning.
For the record, my ear sucks. I can usually figure out a tune intellectually. I pick up a few of the chords by ear. From there, I deduce the key. The key tells me what other chords may be/can be in the song along with whatever scales/modes/arpeggios could be in use. From there it's just a matter of listening for the techniques and trying to get inside the writers head.
There wasn't much tab around when I was first learning to play. I wish there had been. I use tab when I'm writing something out for a student. I can't see any valid argument against it. There's been worse inventions in the 20th Century IMO. Peace.

Yeah , the stuff which is a bit harder to play (lead stuff in particular) just takes a little bit longer to work out!
The ppl that write the sheet music are paid to listen to it from a recording, but My job gets better all the time, unless u r a beginner or don't have a lot of musical experience than yes, tabs are ok (if they are correct) which most guitarists fit into this category, but once u have been playing for a a couple of years (that's how long it took me to start working stuff out) then u find it is good for ur ear training and aural skills tool!
