This ones for all the dads out there as I will be one for the first time with a little baby boy in approx 8 weeks. I'm really excited but have no idea how I'm going to manage working 12 hours a day for 4 days a week, sleeping and eating properly, getting enough excercise, paying bills now off only one salary (a reduced one thanks to the gas crisis) and throw in spending enough time with bubs and fiance.
Just wanted to talk about advise or general experience from either dads or mums who have gone/going through it
Cheers :thumbsu:

I got a 4 yr old and its hard but totally worth it.
You will find a way to get everything done and what you dont do you will realise that it aint that important.
Enjoy every moment with the little fella cause they grow up way to fast, thats my advice.
Also Birthday parties are soo freaking hard so have em at HJ,s or Makkas its only like an hour or 2 and they do all the set ups and clean ups and its like $5.50 a kid. then have the mates back for drinks after.:thumbsu:

I haven't been down that road yet so I have absolutely no advice to offer. Just thought I'd pop in to say congratulations and I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible for you and Mrs Grind :thumbsu:

Thanks guys
We weren't even planning for a kid for another couple of years when we were more settled but things happen and we gotta do the best we can. It's forced us to change our priorities and grow up a little but in saying that though, i couldn't be happier

Forget exercise, you won't have the time or energy
The upside is worth it though (as a bloke it will take you 12 - 18 months to see the stuff that we like - little bubs can be a bit boring)
Hope your bub is happy and healthy!!!!!!!

I am a mother, but I can tell you this much.
The day of the birth will be an amazing high, quickly followed by the worst six weeks of your life. I tell people that because it is true, because no one else will tell you and because at least then when it happens you will know it is normal!
The next couple of years are hard, a combination of worry and guilt. But slowly, ever so slowly, it gets better and you wonder what you ever did without this amazing little person in your life and dread the thought they would ever leave it.
By the time they are seven or so they are actually quite fun. They are independent, yet still think their parents are the best thing ever! Mine are ten and seven at the moment, and I could not imagine life without them.
Dont sweat the small stuff, you dont need to plan for what is going to happen, because whatever you plan for, the opposite will happen anyway!
Just enjoy it and be supportive of each other as parents.:)
