View Full Version : Votes from Port/Essendon
Okay, this is not Maccas' POTY (I don't know whether he does it for finals) but here are my 5 votes for the semi-final.
5 - C. Cornes
4 - G. Wanganeen
3 - N.Stevens
2 - W.Tredrea
1 - K.Cornes
There were also some big improvements on last weeks' game, not earning points but getting a mention.
Che was a good inclusion, busy on the forward lines. I was surprised how little time he was on.
Monty played an adequate game after last weeks' shocker.
Bishop continued his re-birth as a defender.
Schofield had a lot of the ball and used it.
Paxman was sound in defence.
Dew had a number of possessions(11?) and kicked 3 goals. It could have been 4 if his bicycle-kick had come off.

Agree with all those (of course!), and also a word or two for Shaun Burgoyne, who was very effective toward the back, Carr for his shut-down work, Primus for his usual amazing slog and Francou for finally getting away from his tag and making a difference in the 3rd quarter. And P. Burgoyne -- well, he got us revved up for openers, and at least he tries to be a good big brother.

For what it's worth from an opposition supporter...
5. C Cornes
4. Wanganeen :(
3. Stevens
2. Hardwick :(
1. Primus
Is it just me, or has Francou really dropped off a bit over the last couple of months? I can remember seeing a few games earlier this year, and he was absolutely sensational. Recently he seems to be getting tagged out of it a bit.
As mentioned earlier, congrats on the win, and good luck next week.

Francou has dropped off a bit in the last couple of weeks, not months. He tore the Crows a new arse in round 20.

Agreed PAfolwr. But when I lokked at the replay he had only been on the ground 36 minutes by three-quarter time.
Macca there are some votes floating around from last weeks game, hopefully you can add yours and then tally them up.
My votes v Essendon:
5- C. Cornes
4- Gav
3- K. Cornes
2- N. Stevens
1- Che
Apologies:
Dewy, Tredders & Dimma.
Top two were hard to split with K. Cornes not far behind either. Chad - dominated the game, marking was a stand out, keeps getting better & better.
Gav - also played a blinder, killed Hird for most of the night.
Kane - again played his best game for the club this week IMO, he keeps getting better. Disposal was even improved upon.
Stevens - his best game for two months, kicked a couple of important goals and he looked pumped for tonights game, easily in our top 4 players.
Che - Probably provided the spark that helped to win the game, good comeback game for him, now hopefully he backs it up again.
Dewy was good early, Tredders competed hard all night but it wasn't his best game but still very handy and Dimma was well Dimma, Mr Niggle.
P. Burgoyne, Bishop, Pax and Primus were probably the best of the rest.

Yeah, that was part it I suppose.
He really is one of those players that can do nothing at all (or sit on the bench), and then in the space of a few minutes can turn a game.
5- C.Cornes
4- G.Wanganeen
3- N.Stevens
2- K.Cornes
1- S.Dew
Apologies W.Tredrea, CCC.
Macca, what have we decided on in terms of Finals POTY, is it going to be a seperate award to the H&A season or are you just going to combine both the finals & H&A into one all up award?

Should be separate.
Be good to see how the players differ between home and away and finals.

Yes, fair enough. Hopefully we still have two more games with which to give votes;)
