Please Please Me
With The Beatles
Beatles for Sale
A Hard Day's Night and/or Help!
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
'The White Album'
Let it Be
Abbey Road

I didn't include compilation or soundtrackesque albums such as 'Magical Mystery Tour' or 'Yellow Submarine'.

Likewise, as there are only 10 poll options, I combined 'A Hard Day's Night' and 'Help!' into one option (both are of a similar concept, and I'm pretty sure were successively released).

For me, while I like a number of their albums a lot, I'd find it hard to pick between 'Revolver' and 'Abbey Road' as being their best.

The ironically titled Revolver for me.

Followed by Rubber Soul and Sgt Peppers ....I find the last 3 albums a little more inconsistent

I voted for Rubber Soul just in front of Revolver....but there all great albums so it's hard to pick just one. Loved there early stuff too, so innocent.

Rubber soul.

The period when they turned their music from 3 or 4 chord 12 bars to an artform that set a precedent in music.

But where did the title come from? It's a pun. LP record = revolver.

I'm not a big Beatles fan but I'll happily nominate Revolver as it's the only Beatles album I own.

'Rubber Soul' has also rumour to be a pun title, as it happens.

Not only is the 'soul' reference a play on words between the spiritual soul being depicted as being like the 'rubber' of the sole of a shoe, but also, depending on which way you say it you can also come up with variations such as; 'Rub 'er Soul' and 'Rub Arsehole'

Stocka, you're a champ!!!!!!! When I saw this topic I was thinking gawd how do I choose between AHDN and HELP! and yay I didn't have to!!!!!!!!!! :D

Those are my two favourite Beatles albums by a long way.

With The Beatles is a very good album too though, as is Rubber Soul.

'The White Album.'

From what I can tell from 20-21st Century Western conversations, it will be inevitable some day for each of us to "If you were stuck on a dersert island with only...." I have a bag packed and ready to go. It is clearly marked 'Desert Island Stuff' just so I won't make a critical mistake when the time comes. Inside that bag is the Beatles White Album.
