imposters of a cricketing nation, claiming all the glory for the boring negative style of cricket that saw them draw with the aussies last summer, are getting absolutely torn apart by gilchrist and hayden at the moment. they are comparable to the look of a regular sydney first grade side the way some of their bowlers are throwing down the pies.
Some1 better put the bell back in the ball, or this 1 will be over quickly :D

I think that was McMillan that had those safety worries, Cairns had knee problems again.

Couple of questions Nicko:
Who gave the sporting declaration that originally offered the chance of a result in Brisbane?
Who ordered McGrath to bowl yorkers 3foot outside offstump to ensure a draw in Brisbane?
Who did Australia fail to bowl out once last summer?
Who outplayed Australia at the WACA only to Australia bat defencively to obtain a draw?
Who won 3 out of 4 onedayers v Australia?
Think before you write you twit.

I would say Steve Waugh's declaration was more sporting than Flemings.

Bat defencively? Did you not see Gilchrist spank the ball all over the Park which forced Fleming to move the field back (much like tugger did in the gabba test) which did not stop Gilchrist, the S.Waugh run out at the bowlers end and then the Warne run out then made us change our mood to save the game.
If it was not for the rain in the first 2 tests NZ could have been 2-0 down going to Perth.
Considering the population of New Zealand is smaller than Sydney then I wouldn't be surprised if many New Zealand first class cricketers are only Sydney first grade quality.

Was that the first innings declaration for 600 odd at the end of day three at the Gabba or Hobart test?

What about the four hours of defensive cricket and dodgy umpiring before that?

Honestly I was delighted with Steve Waugh's inept captaincy during the entire series. When the forecast is for rain you have to be prepared to give yourself some time to bowl the opposition out twice (make that once even).
Unless I am much mistaken you can not win by first innings points in test matches.
