Its about time he gave it away so a young bloke can have a go, his achilles is not getting any better. Hayden is the classic example of a player who can't let go, what is he 37? go fishin' buddy

always injured? yeah he's only played 1 out of the last 5 tests we've played but prior to that he strung 86 tests in a row in.
i'd love to see him have one last crack in england in 09.
i don't have an issue if he finishes up in the one day arena sooner.

I think he's said that he plans to go until the 2009 Ashes. I reckon he wnats to go out on a high because, as always, we'll defeat our biggest enemy in cricket and "retain" the ashes.:)

the indians certainly made mess of his technique

What is this "give the young blokes a go" BS?
If the young guys are good enough, Hayden won't be around for much longer.
Australia should pick their best side - at the moment that includes Hayden.
He can go out on his own terms, I'd personally love to see some new faces in the team...... but you cant just axe a bloke who has averages like Haydos has.

He's still a very valuable member of the Aus. cricket team
He's been ruled out of the Banger series due to multiple problems with his tendons.

my guess is that with he champions trophy not happening, it is better for him to miss the bangladesh series and give himself more time to get right for a gruelling 4 test tour of india.
You pick the best team ATM. At present a hit Hayden makes it into that team. To say otherwise is ignorant. TO tell him to give the game up is silly. He is averaging just as well is he did 5 years ago.
He's stated today that he wants to keep playing ODIs and that he'll give himself the summer to see if he's still part of plans for the next World Cup.
