Charman is stiff. Very stiff. He is like Des Headland of last year. He won't be back in the side again this year.
The emergencies are Bolton, Charman and Copeland.

I dont agree with this at all! Charman has been one of our best all yr round, and dont think he should be left out for Keating who hasnt played or deserved to be in the team. One good game shouldnt be the precedent for selection as opposed to someone who's work has *meant that we got into the finals*, as opposed to someone, sharing the fruits of someone elses labour.
I would be extremely upset if we get through this week and Charman isnt included. If anything Charman is the *future*of our team as opposed to Keating, and as it was seen with Des last yr missing out on the finals, I dont think we should be shirting of our young guns.

The thing I've liked about him this year is he has a lot of energy. He's a cheeky guy, but he uses his energy well," said Bourke. "His decision making, and knowing where to go on the field, has been really good. That isn't always easy, coming off the bench, but Jamie's been able to do that quite well."
He wants to keep doing it, too. But with Keating doing his bit against the Crows last week and McDonald due to return from a thigh strain, Charman has readied himself for a more nervous selection night than usual, tonight.
"The longer you're in the team the more you think about not being in there," he said. "Every Thursday night is the biggest night of my life, these days."
..............
Im going to try to get on league teams tonite, and send out my condolences for jamie, and my grrrrness that hes not in the team.
I suppose they've got to justify Keating's contract somehow :o
It's a puzzling decision. Although Keating played well against the Crows, Charman has been a fairly good performer for quite some time. Likewise, while he'd had a few quite games, he hadn't particular been out-of-form either.
With that said, I don't think that Keating "doesn't" deserve a spot in the side. He played fairly well against the Crows, and has been 'thereabouts' for most of the year, as another ruck option.
In finals, you really have to go in with your best form players. If Keating is in better form than Charman, he should get the nod, IMO. Charman may have contributed well throughout the season, however, past events won't win games. IMO, this is just part of football - Keating took his opportunity when presented with it. Charman will learn from the experience, and hopefully become a better player. The main lesson being, that you have to be at your best, come finals time.
Keating's tap work is excellent, and I'm fairly certain he will be fired up to retain his spot with a big performance, should the Lions win this week. Similarly, his experience may just come in handy over the next few weeks.

I think that it's got to do with the match up against our matty primus, i think that Keating is more suited to primyus than charman
which emergency is going to come in, i think that its going to be between Bolton and Copeland  :)

As much as I love Jamie, Crackers is the man to do the job on Primus.
He's better body on body.
We'll need him, Beau can't be that fit after his injury.
GO THE RUCKMEN !
Wipe Primus out of the contest.
cheers ... Kaz :)

If Beau isnt that fit after his injury then why isnt the fit Charman in for the expense of Beau? If Keating is better at one on one, then surely a fit Charman is an asset considering the amount of marks around the ground he gets. If we have Keating up against Primus then you'd think youd want another big man getting contested marks around the ground. Charman has beaten Beau with this aspect all year.

Yep have to agree with you there Kaz, when I saw Keating was in and Charman was not I nearly spat but then I thought about Primus and yep Keating is needed on him. And if things go the way I hope Saturday afternoon and the crows can knock the woodies off Keating will be needed on Doc again so unfortunately the emu misses out. The emu is young and there will be more premiership chances for him in the future.

Lethal shows that he is going with Finals experience over youth.
I agree that Keating is best suited to stopping Primus and has played on him before and knows how he playes whilst Primus could have a field day over a young and potentially nervous Charman.

Keating will jump into Primus' body and wear him down that way, and then McDonald will jump over him. It is unlucky for Emu, but he is similar in type to McDonald and didn't have much of an impact at Footy Park.
I think also, you need to factor in that Charman is prone to the occasional clanger (has a tendency to rush things after gain possession), whereas Keating and McDonald are a lot surer with their actions.
Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see Charman re-selected for the GF, if we win this week.

McDonald is yet another young west aussie gun that was allowed to slip through our fingers and is now playing with your mob.
Agreed Headland isnt part of that "let slip through our fingers group"
Its still my opinion that Fremantles failure to draft Simon black and choosing Sinclair and Heath Black ahead of him is up there with the McLoed stuff up.

CRACKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!
YOU BLOODY CHAMPION !!!
cheers ... Kaz ;)
Got to give Crackers his credit.
I was VERY disappointed in the choice of ruckmen (only because they dropped Charman, rather than picking Keating), but he was sensational.
Got some momentum right at the start, and then proceeded to take it right up to Primus throughout the night.
Very impressive game.
Will be very handy this week!
