Grab your family and mates and get your arses down to Basso this weekend. Grab a can from the 'can bar', grab a hotdog and give the boys your all. Lets rally and help our boys get out of the late season slump and thrash the putrid vile that is Peel Thunder.

Those who haven't been to a WAFL game or haven't been for along time you'll be suprised how great an afternoon it is. I much prefer going to WAFL games than AFL games, although you may want to keep your young children away from the can bar due.

Go you mighty Black Ducks!

Great post Jack, I'll be there, for most of the day it appears as I am meeting some of those "putrid vile" supporters for either a colts or ressies game!:thumbsu:

I agree. It was the first WAFL game i've been to in years due to WAAFL commitments but I enjoyed it far more then any AFL game. :thumbsu:

Good to see the Swannies get up too, even if they did give us a scare!

How good would the Midvale junior footy club have been with Naita, Yarran, Walters and Garlett

How good was Naitanui today? 2-3 spectacular marks and the tackling, harassing and chasing was sensational! :thumbsu::thumbsu: Mind you, Garlett wasn't too bad either and Walters showed a fair bit and Clancee Pearce just continues to develop and show he'll be a class act.

Naita did some spectacular things and was quite versatile, but I think there are still some big question marks over his workrate and disposal. Will be a very good player, certainly a very intriguing one, but I think much of what he does gets talked up purely because he is Naita. The amount of times I've heard commentators orgasm over something simple he does when blokes like Lange and Beros do it all the time without fanfare is astounding.

Tell me you're kidding me? His second and third efforts, as I've posted elsewhere, were so much more than anyone else's on the ground. He kicked 1 OOF the rest of his kicking was fine. His handballs in close are as good as anyone I have yet seen. Yesterday he was in the middle of packs a lot and handballing out or taking the tackler on. SO, in short, no I have no doubt about his workrate.

perhaps workrate was the wrong term. When he merely needs to chase a player or ball, he is fine. It's more movement and presenting whilst working the ball up the ground that needs attention. Once behind the ball he at times makes no effort to present as an option up or across the ground.

I'm being pretty picky but it is a facet that does come out in his game at times and needs to be addressed.

Regardless, I've stated he will be very good so you're making a big deal out of just a few concerns I've voiced.

Sorry Underdog wasn't meaning to make a big deal, just thought that his workrate was second to none yesterday and couldn't work out how it could be questioned, much like many people are questioning Rich's at the moment.

But, I now understand what you're saying and yes that area needs work, although was so much better in this area than some of his previous games. He's still learning a fair bit, but at a rate of knots I reckon.

From http://www.swandistrictsfc.com

Swan Districts Football club have recorded almost 30,000 people through the turnstile this year at an average of almost 3,000 per game. This is the most people across all other WAFL clubs.

Congrats.

The only club I have seen advertise home games, and it's paying dividends.

Nicknat is already a drawcard it would seem.

Didn't play enough games to qualify. Have to play 5 WAFL games during the year, Hansen only played 3 games with Swans.

Not bad, seems to have a bit of talent but some days he is very good, others he is missing.

I'm going to head up to watch the game (even though I'm a souths supporter, I couldn't get to the match last week :( ). Could anyone tell me some of the numbers of the Swan's young guns so I can correlate the numbers to the names? Obviously NickNat stands out like dog's nuts, but the rest of them I'm not so sure on looks, except for the ranga. Can anyone help me out?

Also,
I'm planning to catch the train up. Is it a pain in the arse to walk from Joondalup train station? I haven't been to AJ since like, RockIt back in 2001 or something, so I can't remember how I even got there...

Get a copy of the budget, or alternatively you can just print out the team page from the online link:

http://www.wafootball.com.au/resources/doc_download/183-preliminary-final-football-budget

There's a CAT 12 bus (free) running from Joundalup station at 15 min intervals from 9.15AM onwards, that stops just outside AJ.
