View Full Version : Movie Which Movie's Better?
ManWithNoName
28 Aug 2008, 18:18
New idea for a thread. Basic premise is you name two movies and the replying poster has to give their opinion as to which is better. Then they name two movies. Rinse and repeat. Now to keep it interesting the two movies you name need to have some sort of connection to one another. Not an overly direct connection. It can be a same actor, director, writer, genre, plot twist etc. Anything like that. Just so we don't get people comparing Robocop to Joyeux Noel. Make sense? I'll kick it off.
The Godfather
The Godfather II

The Godfather
The Godfather II
Godfather II, easily. One of the few sequels in history that turned out to be better than the original, which was no mean feat considering how great Godfather was. The direction for Godfather II was incredible, I can't think of a movie before it that somehow managed to be a prequel and a sequel in the same film. Awesome.
Back to the Future
Back to the Future 2
Back to the Future by a nose hair. I loved both, though.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

The 6th Sense
The Usual Suspects is a classic. Keyser Soze has to be one of the best characters ever written. The Sixth Sense has Haley Joel Osment. No contest.

clerks or clerks 2
The original, by a mile. Better dialogue, and a lot more of it. Nothing in the sequel comes close to the Death Star construction worker discussion, or the 37 dicks argument.
Adaptation/Being John Malkovich
