View Full Version : Where is everyone sitting at the MCG for the Grand Findal
Where is everyone sitting this week?????
Went down to the MCG at 10.30pm Saturday night with my trusty sleeping bag and was about 60th in the queue. Had a great night chatting to other Lion supporters (except for a couple of nutty C/wood supporters) and by 8.30am Sunday had my ticket in D7 section of the Northern Stand. It was fantastic to see so many Lions members, far more than last year.
Heres to a great week and a very happy Saturday.

Behind the goals ... in the Cheer Squad.
Not sure which end though.
Have a great week everybody.
cheers ... Kaz :)
Row "S" in Q12 (top level Southern stand) - up with the gods (of footy, we hope) - "take a cut lunch" possie
Cheersquad - behind the goals - same as Beausgirl
P2 Southern Stand. Our Melbourne buddy says they're good.
After being in the back row of the Olympic stand last year, I don't think there's anywhere that isn't good at the MCG. It's a fantastic stadium.

Q7 in the southern stand. Never been to Melbourne during the footy season, and am starting to get really excited. Could there have been a better game to go to for your first game at the MCG, Lions v collingwood in a grand final? I can't wait :D :D :D :D :D :D

The Olympic Stand is fairly good in regards to seating, and likewise the Southern Stand, in that, even if you are far back, you still get a reasonably good view of the game. Most of the positions/seats in those two stands are fairly good.
There are certain spots in the Ponsford (Northern) Stand which I don't like though. On the bottom tier, there are parts where it is too flat, and on the top tier, there is a part which is obstructed by the old MCC Members Stand.
Here's a map of the seating plan at the ground:

Olympic stand, top level, row O from memory. (watch out for low flying planes)
Weather forecast isn't looking that good at the moment. Expecting a temp of about 16 degrees and showers.

I went to the 'gabba on Sunday morning at 8am to line up for Granny tickets. I went there wearing my Collingwood cap and received quite alot verbal barrage as expected :D. Most of it was all in good fun but there was the occasional person who took it too far but that's life.
Was number 329 in the queue and have tickets in the Ponsford Stand. Bottom level. Section R13.
Very happy and excited.
Good luck guys. (Not too much ;))
