View Full Version : Come with us - Chemical Brothers
To put it simply, what a piece of ****...
I was expecting to get some good drum & bass beats, what did I get in return ... I'm not sure exactly, still trying to work it out...
Anyone else reckon they're losing the plot a bit?

I didn't think that D & B has ever really been their forte... they pretty much invented big beat and from what I have heard from it, there is a spot of breakbeat in there.
My mate bought it on vinyl for my birthday when he was in the UK at the beginning of the year... but I have never actually picked it up from his place and have only played it a couple of times.
Dont think it is of the same standard as their other work but i dont think they have lost it as such. The singles like it began in Africa and Star-guitar certainly never blew me away.

I too bought it expecting a lot more, I was pretty disappointed. There is one song I love on it though, The State We're In is awesome.

Drum n Bass?? I dunno why youd expect Chemical Brothers to release any DnB type stuff. Theyve never been a DnB band. Always been a Big Beat band. Only slightly DnB sounding song on 'Come With Us' is Hoops.
If you want some good DnB try - Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Big Bud, Andy C, DJ Hype, Ed Rush + Optical, Goldie, Dillinja.
