Thanks Uncle Steve,

www.fullpointsfooty.net

Would have to be one of the best Footy sites dedicated to Australian Rules I have ever seen..It looks at all aspects of the game from a totally non parochial position..

Hence many Victorians will find it totally irrelevant !

Plenty of reading to do.. I could be here all day. :D

Think the SANFL has suffered a demise? Tasmanian footy was totally destroyed. :(

Hey, I'm Victorian and I'm not like that at all!

It is a great site with plenty of potential.

But there is competition - with MY website, specifically my project section! You want to talk about ALL footy?

http://philsworld.iwarp.com/f/project.htm

Mobbenfuhrer can tell you all about it!!! :) :) :) :)

Once again, yes, I can back timelord on this ... "Phil's World" (Football Division) would be my preference over Full Points Footy, though FPF is definitely a great site!

Of course, while we're all being competitive ... you can always have a look down at my signature, at a site that some bloke from ABC Radio's "AM" today described as "truly incredible".

Hey Phil, what happened to that kid fro Maryborough who wanted to put something together ... he seemed to have the same desire to get details out there ... and delving into players as well ... my word he'd have a job on his hands!

Another member of the "Underground" as I said to Mobben, There are many partisans amongst the Victorians and it is unfortunate that when Non Victorians say "All Victorians" it is a generalisation .

The "Underground" I like that. Actually in all fairness PA1870 a suprising amount of Vics have a sound Knowledge of both the SANFL and WAFL.More than you'd think.
Not the woman I saw at the 1999 State of Origin game though.Upon seeing my RED and WHITE Roosters scarf told me I was at the wrong code:rolleyes:

I agree ..
However the colour of our league is different now,With the Vics insisting that the AFL was as it is since 1897, comparisons between leagues are now invalid..Hence the equivalence factor regularly discussed..it no longer exists..and as time goes by everyone knows that the perception of the National league will be that it was always of that standard and the Vics can compare their 1919 VFL premiership side to the 2010 AFL one..yet once upon a time we could compare our G.F. sides to theirs it is no longer possible as their league has changed into a National one and all comparisons are fruitless.

Well the foolette is obviously unaware that red and white is the generally accepted colours of a team known as Roosters. She obviously doesn't even care for local level Victorian footy!

Thank you MF.That is one helluva list.I must admit I'm not as up with country sides as I should be ,but I had no idea there were that many red and white rooster teams.
I thought the woman was always referring to the roosters in the NRL.Which is pretty silly as I was wearing my Crows jumper as well at the time(#3 of course)and I was at a SA versus Victoria game!

Yeah I realise she'd be talking about the NRL, but 2nd-tier Vic footy (VFA) had Geelong West. Seems she only has eyes for the top grade, ahh well, each to their owneus.

Ahh!

Royal Park my stomping ground as a kid..

Royal Park Footy Club..The Roosters..

Sad they folded, made a brief comeback in the late 70's early 80's, but some shennanigins by the self imposed committee of the time ensured the club was only open for 1 year or so in its comeback...wasnt the club that profited from its rebirth..funds were channelled to well meaning others.

I think the Proximity to Seaton Ramblers..that gained a new life when the Boulevard was put in right next to it,coupled with the fact that Royal Park was in the back streets of that suburb that was full of post war European Refugees..

Poles, Yugoslavs, Ukranians, Rumanians, some Italians, Greeks etc.. with suburbs surrounded by other ethnic goups.. Queenstown /Alberton , Russians/ Chinese Russians and so forth made it very difficult for the club to survive..

Mobben do you have anything on the History of the Club ?

regards

Trust yer to pick a club I know basically nothing about :

-----------------------------------------------------
Royal Park Football Club (SA)

Guernseys & Nicknames :
???? - Royal Park wore white guernseys with a red vee, and were known as the Roosters.

Timeline :
???? - SAAFL : Royal Park participated.
-----------------------------------------------------

... I feel ashamed. :(

I've just had a quick read, and i'm quite impressed at the ammount of material they have on offer, but saddened by the fact that nearly all of the competitions mentioned (the TFL, the SANFL, the WAFL, the VFA, the QAFL) were screwed up totally by the big wigs of Australian Football.

Ok, just to satisfy my curiosity, and to knock the knockers before they knock :P ... and to keep the agro competitive stuff going ... I've gone and done some calculations on my data, and found the most average page on my site. That being the one which is closest to the average amount of data. Some have much less, some have much more.

Multiply this by 4200 and you have the full concept :

------------------------------------------------
Caledonian Miners Football Club (Vic)

General :
This club operated out of Ararat. One match report actually referred to this team as 'United', so perhaps the full name for the club was 'Caledonian Miners United'.

Timeline :
1996 (Ararat & DFA) :
Caledonians and Miners merged, forming Caledonians-Miners FC.
Grand Final - Warriors 15.10.100 defeated Caledonians-Miners 11.10.76.

1997 - ADFA April 28 : Saint Mary's 19.12 defeated Caledonian Miners 12.8.

1999 :
1999 - ADFA Second Semi-Final : Caledonian Miners defeated Great Western.
1999 - ADFA Grand Final : Caledonian Miners 12.13.85 defeated Prestige Trinity 6.11.47.

2000 :
Caledonian Miners voiced opposition to the splitting of the Ararat competition.
Caledonian Miners and Prestige Trinity disappeared, being replaced by two new Ararat clubs. Of the new clubs, Ararat United went to the Mininera Football League, and Ararat Eagles went to the Horsham And District Football League.
Caledonian Miners altered name to Ararat United.

West Footscray IS red and white (red with a white V)

Don't you mean Tassie for Queenstown, Kev? (and the original club I assume as the current Queenstown wears the Crows guernsey and are the Crows)

Cheltenham Assumption (as I recall) wore the same guernsey as Cheltenham - black, yellow and red panels.

Thanks Phil,

Separate Queenstown I think, one up in the Hills ... many years ago, will check for sure, might be an error.

Chelt Assumption wore black with small red and yellow stripe on one side, might have been Rosella colours earlier on though, once again will check my data to find out for sure.

Queenstown FC (SA) were in SAAFL for a short time.

Chelt Assumptions were known at one stage as the Panthers and at another as the Roosters. Got some from a SFL program and another from a bloke at work who used to play for them.

(I played for Chelt proper).
