Just filled it in.
I gave the club a generous 4 for on-field performance, and would like other members to give the club a low rating for on-field to let the people there know that we are not happy to be this low on the ladder. "We are Essendon" - we are better than 12th.
Also gave the board a pretty low rating.
Thoughts?

I thought the Sheedy sacking, while the correct decision, was handled poorly. Also JJ and Pev being commented on by Horsburgh, when footballing decisions and media comments should be left entirely to Knights and his assistants.

If you are a member of the Essendon FC website you would have recieved an E-mail telling you your Username and Password for a website you fill in a Bomber survey. The website is- www.feedbackfriend.com/essendonfc (http://www.feedbackfriend.com/essendonfc)

I can't see how the Sheedy thing could have been handled differently when the Board decided they needed to be in the marketplace. Sheedy was told before the media. I think the Chairman did EXACTLY the right thing.
As for an on-field rating for the survey, I was predicting absolute doom when Knights was appointed. I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd finished below the Demons! So, the way the season panned out, with the injuries to key players at inopportune times, I think they've done extremely well. I think I'll give them a seven. I'm now a Knights fan by the way.
I don't think there was ever going to be a good way to move Sheedy on.
There is no doubt they fumbled a couple of areas but lets face it our previous president stepped aside becasue he did not be the one who shot bambi.
There was never going to be a winner on that front.

I done it the other day, overall gave 5 to 7s, as other have said, what has the board done wrong, in the light of day not much wrong, but having said that, no will not go there.;)

The club turned the Sheedy sacking into a circus. There was always going to be media interest in a 27 year coach being sacked, but the club let it get out of hand. I know it wasn't entirely the board, but the Essendon theme song after we got smashed by Richmond was disgraceful. That should be played when we run out, and when we win, no other time.
However, the comments on JJ and Pev from Horsburgh were unforgiveable.

I know it wasn't entirely the board, but the Essendon theme song after we got smashed by Richmond was disgraceful. That should be played when we run out, and when we win, no other time.
So we shouldn't have played it to honour two club champions? They should've been honoured with the Richmond club song?

No, we didn't win the game.
Looking over the survey again, I gave the board a low rating compared to the rest of the survey, but not too bad.
The Administration of the club: 9/10
The functioning of the club board: 6/10
The financial position of the club: 10/10
The promotion of the club in general by club officials: 10/10
Overall, how satisfied are you with the Administration of the Club? 7/10

The issue I had with the survey was there was only one place to write comments. Sure, they just want quantative data but it's hard provide specific feedback about ticketing at the Dome games, etc.
For what it's worth, this is the first year since 2002 that they haven't stuffed my membership up or I haven't had a really bad customer service experience with the Bomber Shop so I'm happy about that.
It really annoys me when the club mucks things up... yes they are a business and many firms are hard to deal with but I wonder if a new member would put up with the issues i have dealt with and keep coming back. It's one thing to stuff around a lifelong supporter who is loyal to the bone but you can't do it for newies.
For what it's worth, I feel that the Sheedy situation was handled badly too. There may have been media smokescreens, etc but indicating that you want a successful person with a premiership at the club and that we would wait for the right person... it all seemed a bit rushed and really Horsbrough was painted as the fool. Whether or not he was just taking a bullet for the team. Plus I hear murmurs from reliable people that Chocco was keen and Bomber would have considered it.
Water under the bridge now and I'm happy with how it's all going but let's hope we do it better next time.

The people who do this stuff are all volunteers. You want it done better, you volunteer.
