I went along on Friday night and saw two great grand finals (more so that I'm a Westies supporter :D )

Westies U17's up by 4 points and the U19's by 18 points both against the Bays. The U17's was the better one of the games with Adam(?) Cooney BOG. He is a real talent. Anyways I've never been as proud of the club as I was Friday Night, both teams have gone through so much and although I didn't catch any of the U17's and 19's matches during the season, watching them finish off the season in such a fantastic way was a perfect start to my weekend.

It also was the first time I've ever seen a goal umpire leave the ground during a game. It looked like he dislocated or cut his finger during the U19's and he had to run from the goals to the wing in a break of play. He left field and I'm not sure if he came back on. Bit of a laugh anyhow!

'gratz to Westies. Deserved reward for a difficult year for both teams.

Pity that neither of the Bays teams could win a cup, but I guess runners-up sounds a lot better than wooden-spooners.

I hope that both clubs can hang on to the talent which obviously exists in their junior grades.

Well done Westy's great year in the juniors.
Also well done to Byron Schammer, Ashley Montgomery and Scott Lewis, all Loxton boys from Westies country zone.
