With Hall, Goodes and O'Loughlin (maybe Ball) already in your forward line, and your two best midfielders retiring, what about Scott Stevens for Matthew Robbins?

Can't say I've seen much of Robbins but the idea of a 26 year old who has played only 50 games for a good, but still skinny, athletic key forward doesn't sound like a particularly inspiring deal from a Sydney point of view. If he were going to be traded I'd rather have one of the Doggies' pups thanks!

I expect Goodes to play more of a defensive role next year - perhaps even in the ruck if Ball goes down once again. Scott Stevens should be given at least one more year, especially if he is capable of playing in the middle as he showed at Port in the finals.

Jim,

I'd consider it, although I'd like Stevens to get a full season so that we can see what he's really capable of.

I have the idea that Robbin's disposal is pretty good. Am I right?

scott stevens is a really good young player. i think he deserves the chance to proove what he can do. Paul Roos thinks a lot of scott as a player,so he'll give him the chance.
As for matthew robbins - great player but i haven't heard any mention that he wants to leave the bulldogs.
one question has anybody heard anything else about the andrew leoncelli rumour of his wanting to come to sydney?

He doesn't, just for the sake of discussion he is probably our most valuable trade material.

Everyone else on our list are either untouchables (Brown, Johnson, Darcy), too old (Grant, Croft, Smith) too young (heaps of them) or duds (Eagleton, Bartlett, Hunter).

Generally young players that haven't actually done much yet aren't worth much at the trade table.

If you would prefer say, Gilbee instead, I'd still do it.

I don't think Sydney would be interested in that trade. Robbins is already at his 2nd club and has only played 50 odd games in 6 years. Stevens doesn't have to play in the forward line. He played on the wing for Port Melbourne this year and played well. Sydney will be very quiet in the trading week. Unless there is a very good midfielder or tall defender available.

If Nick Davis wants to come to Sydney, you may have to trade a player for a 2nd round pick so that Davis can go to Sydney. Pies then get that 2nd round pick that's on traded.
