At a “Country Week” cricket festival in the 1920’s, the former great all-rounder & captain, M.A. Monty Noble, remarked that he had just seen three young cricketers, who he thought would develop into Test players.

One was Don Bradman.

The second was Archie Jackson, who went on to score a century in his debut Test, before dying tragically at the age of 23.

The third didn’t ever play Test cricket, but he went on to play football for Fitzroy. Who was he?
