We all know the importance of having financial members at clubs. ( especially North) How many people actually go out and entice their friends, or unfinancial supporters to become a member.
North has been running a "Member get Member" campaign for the last couple of years.
Last year I managed to get 5 new members.
The previous year 3, although 1 was my son! (3 days old)
I would be interested to know if others do the same. Perhaps if you don't already do it, you could make it one of this years "New Year Resolutions" I NEVER want to have to travel interstate to watch MY club, so think about it. As a sales rep I am on the road all day and see thousands of Roos car stickers, more than any other clubs, so we do have supporters, maybe thay have just been spoilt with all the Friday night coverage that we used to get and didn't believe that they needed to join, or go to games.

PS Welcome aboard spidergirl. If I see you at a game I'll buy you a drink! RU18?

I think I may hold the record in this field.
When I was 9 I signed up 31 people that I knew in my area. This was when the club offered incentives for signing people up. I'll never forget the day the the official standard player issue i received containing bag, boots, official track suit and runners was delivered to the door

I think over the last five years I have added about 25 to our list. Last year two of my brothers and an ex North player, my new nephew whos dad is a Collingwood supporter, but his son now has a jumper signed by Arch and 11 on it, and he is a junior roo. My nephew is going to join this year, just have to ring the club to get them to send the papers to him.
Gosh is this a lecture?

Over the years I've joined up 15 people, however they haven't all been adult members. I've mainly got families to buy family tickets, my two kids aged 6 & 4 are both junior roos as well.

31 thats incredible. The club still offers incentives. Last year for 10 new members you got a jumper sighned by the king.
And kids are just as important. They are the future of our clubs.

MORE KIDS!!!

Thats where things have gone wrong since the abolishion of the draft areas years ago. Nowdays clubs don't really seem to be visiting local schools. I loved it when Barry Cable came to my school and had a kick with me. He taught me to drop kick. what a blast. That memory will last forever

For about the last five years we have managed to sign up about three new members each year. However as our friends are starting to get married ( and some to non north supporters) the task is getting a little harder. However we have three people (two males and one female) who we are working on to sign up this year. Also with the member get member program you can sign up a person as new member as long as they were not a member in 2000. Maybe this could be an incentive to get some of the people who have not renewed back to the club.
