Maybe the players don't understand what black tie is? A black neck tie is not black tie. Then again, the host of the tv coverage (Quartermain) blateingly ignores the black tie dress code, despite AD's threats.

No. Nearly got it right. Again, the tie is the problem and the waist coat isn't required.

LOL, AD must've warned Quarters about the black tie. He was absolutely hell bent that he was not going to wear a bow tie when he's hosting the medal.
