Just heard the first round of bands announced for the upcoming Big Day Out festivals. Here they are:

Queens of the Stone Age
Foo Fighters
PJ Harvey
Millencolin
The Music
Craftwork

There was another band, but I missed picking it up.

They spoke to Josh from QOTSA and he said Dave Grohl might be doing both Fooies and QOTSA. I'm absolutely stoked cos I love Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Poly Jean and Millencolin. The Music put out some good stuff too.

Tickets on sale from Friday the 11th of October.

I think that's an average list. Aren't there any new popular bands around who haven't played a minimum of two BDO's?

I also thought Kraftwerk were killed by the KGB. These must be imposters.

I totally agree about the list Santos.
As for Kraftwerk, why do Lees West keep getting revived bands together to come to the shows. Are they any cheaper?
Lsat year it was the Prodigy, previously Happy Mondays, Go Betweens, Kim Salmon and the Surrealists. I love seeing all of those bands, but I'd also like to see others like the Dandy Warhols, The Strokes, Rocket Science etc.
Next thing you know they'll have INXS or a reformed Nirvana with a new lead singer or something stupid like that, and if Rage Against the Machine ever get on the bill with Chris Cornell, I will be most ****ed off.

Garbage - all of it.

Some there on that list i really like such as 28 days, Frenzal Rhomb, Living End, Foo Fighters, but most of the others, are really average, and are not worth the amount of money to go and see
i have to agree that it is a very average list, can't they get any new bands to come over???
usually more bands sign on to play at Big day, but so far i'm wondering wheter to go this time

Its definatley not a knock your socks off sort of line up, more of a traditional run of the mill BDO. However the quality of the bands on that list is very good.. it just lacks 1 or two MAJOR headliners

INXS are still going (although without a lead singer - hopefully they have got rid of Cat Stevens!):)

I have been every year, but will not be going to the next. Price is becoming ridiculas, too many people(even in Adelaide) and it's the same bands going around every year.
