The reason why I asked this question is that Danny Stevens has been appointed playing coach at Tatura (my team in the strong Goulburn Valley League and fellow Bulldogs) for 2003, and will move back to Victoria straight after the SANFL Grand Final.
And from what I read so far, he's brought with him some great credentials (which is amazing because he's only 25) and what I would like to know is.
What's he like as a player?
What position does he play ?
What's he like as a bloke ?
Do you think he will be a good coach ? etc
If you could help me out here, that would be great, because Danny will lead Tat back to the top of the GVFL.

I have also heard that he has sold his house here and already bought one in Vic.
Danny usually roams about the half forward line.
Has very silky skills and a good eye for goal.
Very down to earth bloke who is very approachable.
As for coaching, the only thing that makes me sus to these rumors is the fact he is only 25. Can't see him just coaching and not playing while still young.
I will post your comments on our website and see what i can find out.

Thanks Bulldogpommy, Tatura needs another attacking option up forward, and hopefully he'll fulfill that role (hopefully, Danny will get a few SANFL players up here as well), also, he sounds like a nice fella, who'll hopefully blood a few of Tatura's Under 18's next year (we've got some good ones).
Tat usually employs playing coaches (and by giving them cushy jobs at Rosella, and Tatura Milk), and a young bloke should help lift the flagging morale within the club.
BTW, Lincoln Wellington (who played reserves for Centrals two years ago) did a great job in defence for Tatura in a trying year for the club, he was one of the few consistant players for Tat this year, and will play in 2003.

SAD NEWS TO BE SEEING DANNY GO. CHAMPION PLAYER. i GUESS IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE SAW A DISBURSEMENT OF QUALITY PLAYERS AT THE CLUB. I THINK WE'VE DONE GOOD TO HOLD THE TEAM REASONABLY STEADY FOR THIS LONG. HOPEFDULLY SOME MORE QUALITY RECRUITS WILL COME OUR WAY.

DANNY STEVENS
Hard running utility with AFL experience with the Kangaroos. Used across the ground and is very handy as a pinch hitting forward or rotating midfielder. 2000 Premiership player.
