Andrew Maher on the C7 Football Show (29/1/01) stated that there is a perception in the football world that Michael Voss does not play injured. My immediate reaction was to think of Anthony Stevens who would have to be the complete antithesis. Another player with intestinal fortitude would be Kelly from the Swans. Is there any truth to the perception regarding Voss ?

That's horseshit, pardon my francais.
Voss has played with a foot-long steel rod in his leg since he broke it. Made the all-Australian team last year too, and did well in the Brownlow.

Darky, would have to agree with all points, except the point about the Brownlow medal. The Brownlow medal is the umpires choice award. Unless the player is blonde and/or a midfielder he has a snow flakes chance in hell.

Plenty of people have a high opinion of Voss's leadership skills, and one key to having that respect is a player's ability to do the tough stuff. In the case of Voss, he does go in for the hard ball and while he may not be as tough as say Stevens, Archer, or Kelly, you have to remember that this trio set a very high standard and Voss isn't far off from it.

The question you have to ask yourself is, "Would we like to see Voss in North colours?". My answer is, "f*** yeah!".

My wife's butcher's hairdresser's sister said he was coming to North next year... and she should know...
