Centrals - i just think they are a slightly better side than Sturt and the fact Sturt havent beaten em this year will work in Centrals favour.
Margin - 15 points
BOG - James Gowans for Centrals and Wicks for Sturt
First goalkicker - Damien Squire
Central by 32 points...:( I think they are the better team sadly and will be alot fresher than Sturt..
Jack Oatey Medal- Marco Bello
First goalkicker-Chris Gowans

[Tip:] Centrals.
[Reason:] I'm tipping them, because I tipped Norwood last week. Hopefully it's the kiss of death.
[Margin:] 3 points.
[Best On Ground:] Tim Weatherald (Sturt), Marco Bello (Centrals).
[First goalkicker:] Brant Chambers

Who will win the blue, though ?:)
Centrals are masters of shutting down the game and turning it into a ugly slog which they always win.
2000 grand final is a classic example. Eagles were clearly the better team all year and Centrals won it when it mattered by making it the most boring tedious game I have ever seen
But if that wins you flags - that's what you do.
Sturt rely on a fast running handball game. At quarter time alst week I think they had about 105 possies of which 63 were handballs. Very unusual.
So if Centrals can shut this game down then they will win.
At the second semi final at no stage did I think Sturt could win the game even when they got to within 6 points in the last quarter.
Sturt can win if they can get teh ball in teh open early on and make Centrals chase them.
A sunny day with no wind is their best chance.
My Tip - Centrals by 13 points.

I'm not game to tip...but let's just hope Sturt's dummy team in today's Advertiser aren't the only Sturt dummies this weekend.

Sturt - 'coz no-one else has tipped 'em, and I think they are due.
They had a good look at how Centrals closed them down a fortnight ago and I reckon Sticks will come up with a variation of the Sturt game plan to beat it. (Besides, Centrals couldn't win 3 in a row could they?)
margin - 6+ goals.
First Goal Kicker - Sheedy.
BOG - Barney French (well, why not!)

This will upset a few people but here we go.
Sturt to win. Why? Because the memories of 96 have been haunting me all week. We beat Port 4 times that year and lost the grand final to them.
Margin of 11 points.
BOG Jade Sheddy
Fisrt goalkicker: Danny Stevens
I hope i am wrong but i never feel confident when playing these big games.

A JOKE.
Mark Williams the coach of Port Power gets wind of a
potential new young recruit who lives in Bosnia.
Williams and the Power Recruiting Manager catch a plane to war torn Bosnia
and track the young boy down.
They risk life and limb dodging bombs, bullets and grenades but finally find
him and convince him to come to Australia. The boy does a full pre-season,
plays all the practice matches and gets picked on the bench in the seniors
for the first game of the year.
Ten minutes into the first quarter, Chad Cornes goes down with a severe knee
injury.
Mark Williams turns to the boy and says "This is it son, go to centre half
forward and show us what you can do."
The boy proceeds to play the greatest debut game in AFL history. He
kicks 9 goals, takes mark of the year, and kicks the winning goal after the
siren from outside 50.
The Power chair him off the ground and give him three cheers back in the
rooms. Mark Williams tells the team what the boy from Bosnia has been
through and that he is a model lesson for all.Williams then pulls the boy
aside and says "Go into my office son, ring
your Mother and tell her what you did today".
He proceeds to do so. "Mum", he says down the phone, "Guess what I did
today?
"I don't care what you did today his Mother replies. "I tell you what
happened here today", she goes on. "Your Dad was beaten up, our house
torched, our car blown up, your sister mugged and your brother abducted."
"Gee," says the boy. "I feel a bit responsible for what
happened".
The Mother replies "So you should be, if it wasn't for you we would never
have shifted to Port Adelaide."

Ah 1996, what a year. My favourite Grand Final win as it was on my birthday :D
You embarassed us in the secound round, winning by 27 points but keeping us to 1 goal at 3/4 time i beleive.
Then you beat us in a come from behind win at Alberton in Round 11, winning by 21 points.
Then you broke our hearts in Round 20, with Port up by 5 goals at 3/4 time you come home strongly with the 5 goal breeze and won by 10 points (bastards!)
Then you flogged us 12.15 to 7.21 in the second semi.
Then we flogged you in the Granny in the one match we should NOT of won. No Darryl Poole who was vital to our side after being suspended in the Prelim Final, noone tipped us at all....yet we won! Scotty kicking 7 out of 11, Flash Francis dominating, Roger Delaney the hero at full back!
WHAT A DAY!!!! :D :D :D
sorry!

And i got kicked out at 1/4 time. So with that and being in Perth in 95 i have never seen Centrals lose a grand final.;)

Sturt by 23.
Why? Apart from bias... I think we are due, we got closer to them last time. If our players find space then our running brigade will cut Central apart.
Damian Squire for the Jack Oatey medal.

Centrals will beat Sturt comfortably on Sunday by at least 5 goals.
As for this rubbish about Centrals playing unattractive footy, I say go and watch them play, rather than fall for the propaganda of Brenton Phillips. The Dogs are the most skillful and creative team in the league and are by far the best team to watch.
And I love hearing folks talk about Sturt's 4 magarey medallists as if that's a reason for them to win. Centrals has at least a dozen guys lining up on sunday that are better than any of the four magarey medallists over the last 2 years. That medal is a JOKE and is more a reflection of a side lacking depth rather than a true indication of skill. What is more meaningful is to point out that Centrals received more Magarey medal votes overall than any other team!

Greetings from North Stradbroke Island
Some sod scheduled a workshop over this weekend, so here I am in sunny Queensland instead of Adelaide. Why they had to pick this particular weekend is beyond me... this is the one weekend of the year that I'd rather be in Adelaide than QLD. :( Auntie Shell is taping the game for me, and I'll watch it when I get home late on Sunday night.
My tip:
Central by 45.
It might be an arm wrestle until 1/2 time. Central will pull clear in the 3rd term and run riot in the final.

I guess you are referring to my post. Sorry BC, was being sarcastic. I was actually paying Centrals a compliment. Totally agree with your comments. Sturt have nowhere near the depth of Centrals. After the (sarcastic)" four Magery Medallists" the talent drops away quickly.
