View Full Version : So what do we all think of Hille?

Seems like the general consensus amongst us is that he isn't up to it. But i had a look at his stats round by round this year (http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/D/David_Hille.html) and it is quite clear that he was doing fairly well for us as far as first year #1 string ruckmen go, and then he had his injury against the Swans and he was never the same. He was obviously carrying an injury after that game, and combined with sparodic game time due to Salmon taking the #1 role, it is no wonder he didn't set the world on fire. I like his work around the ground, but i don't think he is what you would call a 'natural' ruckman. I am still hoping he can learn the art of ruckwork and make the #1 spot his.
I actually think that Sheedy will turn Hilly into a key position forward (CHF). He takes a great mark, and his goal kicking aint bad either. With a little work on his technique, he could really develop into an excellent forward option for us. He could also take the ball-ups and boundary throw-ins in our F50.
2003 is a crucial year for him. :)
His kicking is dead straight and can mark. Seemed to struggle half way through the year.

I`m sticking with him. Ruckmen take years to mature, he is well on the way. Awesome early and then tapered off, he is going to be huge for us.

Same here,
just as long as he doesn't take as long (12 years) as "The Itallion Stallion"

12 years and counting......
And I don't mind Hille either. Once he learns how to win the taps, he might even make a good ruckman. ;)

He's not going to be the quick fix that we need next season. But he has mammoth potential (pardon the pun :D) and he will be a future star

I sure hopes he goes well next season. If we get Allan or Everitt he may end up being our no.1 ruckman.
