I was just watching bits from the great 2000 grand final win and i saw Dean Rioli crying, obviously because he missed out on being in the team. My question is, would he have been in the side if he was not injured at the time? If so who would have been out for him?
Thanks

Moorcroft and Bewick were the two closest to being dropped IIRC. Rioli definately would have played.

Let' just say the skin fold test was not his favourite.

He'd done some injury, worked hard as to get back, was on the verge of getting in the team, and in Rd 18 broke his collarbone.

fat joke!

He broke his collarbone twice if I remember correctly.
I remember the second one well, against Carlton. He hunched over immediately and it was clear as day what had happened.
He would've been in the side, most likely at the expense of Boris.

I think the initial injury was a broken collarbone, he got back from it and broke it again.

That's what I was saying..
He would have replaced Moorcroft.

i thought the second time he did it was against the bulldogs, courtesy of a chris grant bump or tackle

You're right.
Had my wires crossed somewhere.
Sheedy said that if Rioli and Jacobs weren't injured they would of both been playing.
