View Full Version : TV Tina Fey's parody of Sarah Palin

I'd love to embed a Youtube video, but Saturday Night Live clips get taken down very quickly off Youtube. Below is a couple of links to show you what I'm talking about, in case you haven't seen them yet.

Tina Fey's portrayal of Sarah Palin is remarkably accurate and quite funny. Amy Poehler is pretty good as Hilary Clinton in this first clip, but damn, Fey really steals the show.

There might have been an item on Fox News about how Tina Fey is bad because she did an impersonation of Sarah Palin.

Tina Fey is a legend! has talent and looks to boot. Her critiques of the vacuous celebs like Paris Hilton on many interviews are gold.

Yep she has been awesome since she started doing the weekend update with Jimmy Fallon about 4 years ago. But weekend update has always been my favourite part of SNL. Kevin Nealon (you’re a gun Doug) and Norm Macdonald were awesome in this role as well.

Just saw another parody on the news of the VP debate and it's a cracker. One part has Tina Fey saying something like " we're not afraid to get all mavericky":D Couldn't find a link so hopefully someone else can.

She's been gone from SNL a couple of years.

Except she's back to do this role... and lol at the following:

“I saw one lady trying to form a thought that it was sexist on the news but she didn’t get it together, probably because she was a lady and she was dumb,” Fey said.

That was freaky. Tina Fey's impersonation is uncanny and brilliant. I do have to hand it to Palin for being willing to poke fun at herself, though her candidacy has been an absolute disaster of Nicole Cornes proportions (remember her??) and I honestly cannot see her as anything more than a token VP candidate.

That's what they want you to feel. And that's what they want people to focus on, not her complete lack of any idea about 90% of topics. Rest assured, she'd be spewing with the way Tina and SNL have shown her to be the complete idiot she is but they are also aware the only way to try and combat it is to appear to laugh with them and not have them all laughing at you.

Yeah, it's nice that Palin is going on the show and all that, but it's a pretty shallow attempt to get people to sympathise with her. I mean, her other option was to ignore it would be a horrible career move, which was discussed in one of those videos Karl Pilkington posted.

Haha, thanks! Political satirists everywhere will be shedding a tear in about a week from now with the demise of Bush and (most likely) Palin...

LOL at the McCain-Bush handshake!

I love Tina Fey's parodies of Palin. This one smacks louder than a crackhead mum of desperation though. Imagine being so desperate for votes that you are prepared to re visit a joke that makes the person you choose to be a heartbeat a way from the most powerful position in the world look like the half wit she is.

You have to make it look like you are laughing with them re these types of things if you are the republicans but there is smiling and saying "yes it is funny" and then there is "I'll sell out my running mate" for a few potential votes.

She must be ropeable and clearly McCain doesn't give a stuff. The guy would pimp out his wife if he thought it would help.

And I'd vote for him if he gave me an hour with her ;)

Yeah they're headed for a thrashing alright.

I actually like McCain as a person though, he seems like a good bloke and has a track record to prove that he's one of the better human being's in politics.

yea i saw that but her going on to me was saying "i can play along with the joke" (even if it was her only option). Him going on was saying, "i'll do anything for votes, even run this joke up the flag pole again that makes Palin look like a half wit"

Yeah... kinda pissed off that Bush got the Republican nomination ahead of him in 2000 now. His time's passed though, it's a bit of a shame really. I don't think he could have matched Obama's energy as President.

As for McCain being desperate, well, for me his appearance on SNL had the air of a man who was resigned to the fact that his defeat was pretty much inevitable so he may as well have a bit of fun.

And Tina Fey's portrayal of Sarah Palin IS brilliant. It's probably single-handedly revived SNL's fortunes!!

I agree about 2000, McCain at least appears to have a conscience. I just think he seems like a genuine person, and like I said, he has a history that points to this under extremely difficult circumstances.

Funnily enough, I reckon George Bush would be fun to hang out with though. Has a wicked sense of humour for a spaz.

As a rule though, I don't like Republicans (Palin is hot though) or Democrats.
