View Full Version : Gold Coast should have their own sub-forum
Now that it is confirmed that the Gold Coast is to be a new AFL club, they should have their own supporter forum like every other club (and Fitzroy!).
The expansion board should be for hypotheticals.
Gold Coast is no longer hypothetical. It is the newest AFl club.

I agree, they have legitimate issues to discuss now like any other club.
The topics and contribution would be spread very thin at first, but im sure other teams supporter would head over to put in their two cents.

Agreed and with Western Sydney also confirmed, how about two new sub-forums for Gold Coast and Western Sydney?
Good stuff.
But until WS is confirmed - basic name, colours, etc, they should remain here.

another couple of weeks and the club will all be official.
Unless the AFL turns them down. Which isn't that likely really.

I agree, but there will be a lot of similer threads and most posters will be from other clubs until next year.

When is the GC17 presentation to the AFL? I think it's coming up in the next few weeks, but can't find the exact date.
Good luck to GC17; great to see they've already got some supporters lined up on here, even though it's still a couple of years away.
Once the decision is formally made, that's probably the time to create the new GC17 board.

And surely we can start calling them the Gold Coast Football Club or GCFC, rather than this GC17 nonsense?

a quick quote from a news article on the GC17 website:
"The Gold Coast bid team led by John Witheriff was set, what was thought to be the difficult target of signing up 20,000 committed supporters, to go part of the way to persuading the AFL commission to grant an AFL license on October 13."

Please do. I'm so sick of hearing GC17. Having said that, still called GC17 on the official bid website. Hopefully a new one will be up-and-running on the 14th of October.
