This was one of my favourite movies growing up. Full of classic one-liners, and the ultimate underdog story. Funny as hell.

Not available on DVD in Australia, but available on EBay if you're inclined.

The characters are fantastic. And the baseball action is realistic. It a bit of a misconception that all the characters are no-hopers. They all have ability, and the baseball action feels real. That's really Charlie Sheen throwing the ball.

Thoughts about this comedy?

Not available? Dang. I was hoping to snaffle a copy but might get shagged by an unscrupilous retailer! A gold movie despite the romantic subplot which drags it down a little.

Favorite sports movie of all time. Love the story line of no-hopers getting it done. Really funny. Although have to agree with Rik E Boy that the love story really gets in the way.

The baseball action is pretty good and comes across as real. The bit when they are almost down and out and then Dorn (i think) gets a base hit and the music changes, love it!!

Fabulous movie. Make sure you get the 'cinema release' - the one they show here in Aus on the TV has all the swearing taken out - I found a video (not DVD) at a church sale a few years back and got quite a shock when I saw it. They obviously filmed each scene twice - one with swearing and one without for the tv.
