what do you think is the best XI players in Australia under 23 years of age (age restrictions in cricket are at September 1, so it born after August 31, 1979).
Craig Simmons - WA (December 1, 1982)
Sean Meuleman - WA (17 July, 1980)
Michael Clarke - NSW (April 2, 1981) captain
Shaun Marsh - WA (July 9, 1983)
Shane Watson - Tasmania (June 17, 1981)
Michael Klinger- Victoria (July 4, 1980)
Sean Clingeleffer - Tasmania (May 9, 1980) keeper
Cameron White - Victoria (August 18, 1983)
Nathan Hauritz - Queensland (October 18, 1981)
Scott Brant - Queensland (January 26, 1983)
Paul Rofe - SA (January 16, 1981)
Damien McKenzie - Queensland (July 21, 1980) 12th man
pretty young exciting team, which just shows the talent that Australia has coming through.
Some of the other really good young players to come through are the South Australia foursome of Cameron Borgas (1983), Mark Cosgrove (1984), Callum Ferguson (1984), Tom Plant (1984) are all brilliant batsmen, who anchored South Australia under 17's victory in the 2000-2001 season and will be looking to do the same in the under 19's series this season. Borgas (who has played a couple of first class games already) and Ferguson were a part of the SA squad in pre-season, while Cosgrove was a member of the SA 2nd XI team. Expect all 4 to make the Australian 19's team and play at least one first class game each this season barring injury. Cosgrove was the 3rd leading runscorer at the 2000-2001 under 19 championships while he was still eligible for under 17's cricket. He and Borgas Will represent Australian under 19's for the 3rd season in 2002-2003.
From New South Wales, Aaron Bird (1983) is a young quicky making his mark in first grade cricket already. He was the guy that hit Slater in the head in a first grade game last year and he has a rookie NSW contract this season. James Allsopp (1984) is probably the best young keeper going around, and if his batting improves will get a NSW contract sooner rather than later. Jarrad Burke (1983) has also made a great impact in grade cricket and under 19 cricket, being picked for Australia last season.
I dont really know much about the Victorians but i know Adam Crosthwaite (1984) is a great talent as a batsmen-wicketkeeper, while quicky Mark Simpson (1983) has been picked for the Victorian 2nd XI.
what other young gun players are out there that have the ability to go all the way.
