View Full Version : Today's intra-club praccy
Me and Spidey went along to the intra-club match at Sandringham today. Here's the main bits of info:
* Sav looked good, kicked a few goals and spent a lot of time in the ruck vs Corey
* Corey played some brilliant passages of footy, including a big speccy in the 3rd Q. Got his arse kicked by Martyn when playing at FF
* Shannon Watt has bulked up big time, and was very vocal out on the field. Greater confidence this year perhaps?
* Abraham looked sharp, kicked a nice goal or two
* Calthorpe got a bit of the footy, but fumbled it every time. Also he put down a couple of "opposition" players with late and careless tackles. Looked unfit and hobbled around.
* Ricky O - mysteriously absent, lay on a rubdown table without getting rubbed down. Didnt LOOK injured, but absence was unexpected.
* Carey and Archer plus the injured players did not participate. Blakey appeared to only play 2nd half, I didn't see him at all in the first half.
* Cochrane has had a haircut
* McCartney looked sharp and very focused
* Tim Rogers from YOU AM I was present, spotted late in the game
* Couldn't get a *****en beer, Darky not happy
God I hope that was accurate, my first ever attempt at a practice match report and I was 3/4 asleep all day so my faculties probably weren't all with me.

Thanks Darky, you made me feel like I was actually there. These are the crazy sorts of things I always notice like who's had a haircut & who's looking buff.
Hmmm, Ricky horizontal huh? I hope you held Spidey back. What's this I hear about him having a minor operation. Anyone know? Hopefully something very minor like an ingrown toenail rather than an arthroscope or whatnot.

yes 35eye i nearly had a heart attack thats why i am still up (cant sleep now haha)!!!
ahh and Darky forgot to mention our bloody public transport adventures from today
- get to Sandy station woman almost dead in a fit lyin on the road
- get on another train, dude gets stabbed and falls out the train drugged of his nut the whole train stops, cops and news cameras eveywhere wicked as!
- then who walks on the train next ahhhhhhh a Saints player (Spidey ****s on over there and goes absolutely wild) lol!!! after a very big V drink high!
ah and Darky did u enjoy the underwear strip show on our carriage at Flinders Street lol!

ok spidey if im not wrong ricky did tell u and i that he is hoping to play round 1
so him missing an intra club match should not be a big deal
ricky will be back, he will be an great pick up for nth, i have every confidence he can reach somewhere near his 93 form

darky, no beer. if you caught the train you should have passed the sandringham pub on the way to the ground. they would have been happy to sell you as many cans as you could carry to the ground. i hope your pre game preparation improves before the real season starts.

I forgot to mention in the report last night, Brent Harvey also looks to have beefed up a little, but Brady Rawlings still looked a touch frail being bowled over a couple of times, first by Corey inadvertently running into him (not with any great force though), and then by a Calthorpe "tackle" after the contest.
I just started reading some of the topics on the main board and came across this. There are some things I obviously DIDN'T notice at the praccy (if it was indeed from this game).

So who was this Saints player & how did yu recognise him? Was he wearing his guernsey & shorts on the train?
He was wearing a Saints sponsor's t-shirt and carrying two sports bags. Btw, looking at the player profiles on the AFL site, I'm now certain it was Brett Voss.

haha i know 35eye every time we go to footy stuff something happens oh god the number of stuff goin down to Collingwood especially - nearly getting kidnapped in Clifton Hill, pricked by needles at Vic park, trouble on public transport, we get followed, we meet the most weirdo drug ****ed ppl etc etc its so much fun but!

Thanks guys the reports were great... can anyone tell us about the report that Jess went down... and did it look as bad as they are carrying on about in the Age...
sinclair has deep bruising to the shin, and should be ok for the west coast game this week
