A big thank you to our recruiting department who had the foresight to recruit these to lads. And Freo played their part aswell Haha

Poor old freo, they keep on getting screwed, ever since they let go of mcleod. But even if we had not picked up such promising players with our draft picks, i would still say that we won out of that deal.

It was also a shrewd deal from the recruiting staff, considering we picked up reimers who is a WA boy and fremantle + WC would have been favourites in that year to pick him up, but we bypassed them both to pick reimers at 47, which was a surprise at the time.

you're looking at things the wrong way.

Fremantle overlooked Houli and Reimers themselves with pick31 (Clayton Collard).

suppose they had of selected 1 of those 2, or suppose they had've taken Westhoff (pick71) with their pick53.

looking back on ess recruiting skills & fre recruiting skills is not the way to judge a trade.

Solomon has been bloody good for Freo. i think he's played his best football for them. fair result for imo.

Ya reckon? I reckon he has been consistantly ok throughout his whole career and has never lived up to his potential. He was touted as the next Glen Archer early on in his career but is obviously light years away from that.

At the time, the trade was probably a fairly even one for both teams.

Just that our recruiters nailed 2 very good youngsters with those 2 picks whilst Soloman has spent more time at the tribunal than on the field.

Very good trade only because of our correct selections

Can't put much of it down to Freo.

We got 2 3rd round picks which could have turned out to be anything.

Our recruiters struck gold as far as I'm concerned.

We were lucky Houli lasted that long. Good work by Dodoro to take Reimers as a 17 year old

solomon was clearly at his best at the turn of the millenium.
