Groucho

Wow I haven't seen us take up so much newsprtint since Carlton's takeover bid 10 years ago! At least it's all in the open and there at least appears to be some resonable strategies in place to correct our current predicament. As Greg Miller says we'll have to get used to the term "cash strapped roos" but, what the hell,I think we'll survive ok.

I agree Groucho, if we were rattling tins then I'd be worried. There are a few area's were we can improve our financial performance and the club is addressing these such as
1 - Outside income ie the Broady complex looks as though it will finally be open later this year.
2 - Home games in Canberra instead of Sydney. Canberra can support a Rugby League team, theres no reason they can't support a part time AFL club. Greg Miller was confident of getting around 6 thousand members in Canberra.
3 - Corporate support - looks as though the Roos are getting there act together by launching the vice presidents club.
4 - Increase in membership. Club is finally getting rid of its 'inclusive' policy and opening it doors. On average 3000 members do not renew there membership the following year. This should turn around.
5 - People have overlooked that gate dividends are no longer equalised. Home matches against the so called big 4 in Victoria will turn this around this year.
6 - Proactive involvment in the media by Denis and the boys. Maybe some good publicity for a change.
Greg Miller and the board should be given our full support.
