By all accounts he is a great batsmen, many players around Australia would "deserve" a test spot.
Noffke, D Hussey, Mcgain, Hodge.
The problem is you can only field 11 so someone is going to miss out.
NO! I wanna see him stay in the Vic side :D

i think if watson can't get some scoreson this tour, then D Hussey will come in at 6 for the summer.
I don't know but i get the feeling that it could be over for Symonds - maybe not. He may prove me wrong and come back. But if Symonds doesn't come back to the field then yes Hussey has to be the next in line. No Question surely....

Apples and oranges. White is being played as the spinner, David Hussey is a batsman. Out of the top 5, who is missing out for Hussey..and consider Jaques was dropped despite scoring a ton against the Windies. Australia have a ridiculous amount of batsment that "deserve" a spot, it is hard to fit them all into 5 spots

S***s all over Simon Katich, but remember Katich plays for NSW - so he will always get selected before Huss.

I'm not necessarily a Simon Katich fan but Katich deserved to get picked for this Test match ahead of Jaques.
Dussey will get his chance.

Even so that is 6 batsmen ahead of David Hussey. That answers your question why he is not in the side
Yes he should.
Easily good enough to be in the aussies first 11.

I can see him forcing his way into the side through the ODI side. On form, he could easily replace the overrated dud Michael Clarke.

Hes not old enough. If you dont play for nsw the minimum age is 32 for batsmen to make their debut.

Deserves a spot. But not at the expense of anyone currently in the team.

That is the bottom line, he deserves it but no-one in the top 5 is doing bad enough to be dropped!
