We won't pick him up, so there's no point in discussing it.

Not as stupid as it sounds.

However, with only 4 spots on the list free, it's got to be a no.

I'd consider it if we had space for a gamble.

I'm sorry Benny but he is an absolute spastic

Not only is he a dud footy player, he's a shit bloke too

The fact that Melbourne of all teams were desperate to get rid of him speaks volumes

I'd consider it if we had space for a gamble.

And I'd consider it if it was a gamble, but it isn't. You take a gamble on an unknown quantity or a player who has shown flashes of talent but hasn't pulled it together and might if given another shot.

Carroll is one of the worst defenders in the game IMO (and I'm not talking about in Melbourne's poor defensive unit, just his individual skills, efforts and reading of the play) and from all accounts sounds like the type of personality Knights wants to stay away from, not recruit.

Rookie Andrew Lee + Dustin Fletcher already on our list, and Patrick Ryder too, and the emergence of Tayte ears to the side next year, and also the addition of at least two more talls, that will leave us with 6 options down back, and we also have NLM, and Mcphee that are capable of playing on the talls, their are 6 bloke able to play as tall defenders, so, in summary, NO to Nathan Carrol,

Obviously he is a massive wanker, but so is Cameron Mooney, and he filled a need for Geelong's premiership side.

He's not better than Fletch or Paddy, but if our list was a bit better, and we had room, he'd be better cover than NLM or McPhee.

I am definitely saying no, and it won't happen, but that is only because of the state of our list.

What I'm getting at (very poorly) is that it's a no, but not a straight off the bat no like Chris Egan or Nick Davis.

He is not a dud player, he actually does have a bit of football ability.
There is no way we would even be looking at him given his off field problems.

I don't watch a lot of Melbourne but didn't he get dropped on a few occasions this season?

Everytime I have seen him play against Essendon he's been hopeless (although I do admit Lloyd and Lucas are a formidable combination)

Either way, as you said - he is a tool off the field and Essendon won't touch him

He got dropped becasue he is an idiot and misses training sessions. The bloke can play he it is too bad he is a serious knob off the field. Lets face it you are doing well when you start bashing your team mates in the street after a night out.

No deal. IMO: poor attitude off field, average ability, 0% chance of improvement, basically that all equals a massive no deal.

you need short back and sides to fit into Knights plan so Carroll is out!

This behaviour seems to be a growing trend amongst AFL clubs.

Lee has been delisted.

I wouldn't dream of picking up Carroll, and if we did, there would be a riot at Windy Hill.

Watching him play is like watching a cat trying to bury its sh-t on a frozen lake.

He's an utter gimp. I've shat better footballers than him.
