I had my doubts about Ricky's ability, but the boy can play.
I saw him in today's magoos match and he is excellent in close and dishing out the handball. Very effective in the centre clearances aswell.
His injuries have certainly curtailed a very promising career.
Lets hope he stays injury free for us, as I think he could be a big bonus.

Another one to catch the eye was Corey Jones, a classy left foot goal sneak of medium size. Reads the ball of the pack, and would be an ideal type to compliment Rocca/Carey as our third target up forward.
The only negative is he seems a bit hungry and loose on the defensive side.

Daniel Harris showed a little bit. A real hard nut, in and under type. Could eventually become a favorite of the fans and coach.

Daniel Motlop showed glimpses of magic. Don't know if he is ready for seniors, he still has a light frame.

Drew Petrie has got some definite promise. He took an absoulute screamer. Finally we have a ruckman that can take a mark, but he is more of a M.Primus type than a J.White type of ruckman.

Lasscock, Ainley and L.Smith showed just enough to suggest they might break through this year.

Ricky showed the good disposal skills that made him a good player at Essendon, and with match fitness I'd expect him to press for senior selection very early.
That Petrie mark was an absolute hanger, he showed a bit around the ground and looks a good acquisition. Lindsay Smith looks probably even better! Maybe our ruck stocks aren't as low as first thought.
Daniel Motlop oozed class and Mark Hilton is built like a brick shithouse, and looks a capable long-term replacement for Martyn, once he gets some senior experience (elevation to the senior list seems a formality in my opinion).
