This movie is an American remake of a spanish film named REC which was released in 2007. Looks like they followed Rec fairly closely in the script even if they did change the manner of the disease that causes the trouble. Having seen both I am more disposed to the Spanish version as I think the plot line actually makes more sense than the Americans twist on it. The American version reminds me completely of Blair Witch and you should be warned about the shakey camera if you are prone to motion sickness. It is worse than Cloverfield. The Spanish version also has shakey camera syndrome but thankfully not as bad. There are some excellent scares in the films and while it has that "seen it before" feel towards the end overall it isn't a bad thriller. Quarantine is a pretty good remake of REC and it is worth while watching both just to see the differences.

Watched it last night, nothin too special. Wasn't bad, but not the greatest movie. Maybe it sucked cos I couldn't see anything...

Don't watch the trailer if you dont want to know how it ends.

Looks a bit TOO Cloverfield-like.

I'd say it's closer to Diary of the Dead.

Zombies running around eating people while someone records.

Cept it's a lot scarier. You just wanted to laugh at time during DOD.

Best horror movie I've seen in a long time. Shakey camera made it even scarier!

Haven't watched it, probably will one day.

I'm a little more cultured than some. I saw the original Spanish version a couple years back. It played at the 2007 Spanish Film Festival and was the closing film of the 2007 Melbourne International Film Festival.

Freaky freaky film, made better by watching with a full audience (18+ too :thumbsu:).

ah yes watching a movie with an audience 18+ is a bonus.

I actually wish all movies that I watch where rated 18+

Anyways I have whispers of sequel on the net.

Well the movie it's based on REC had it's sequel come out in September last year, so don't be surprised if Hollywood jumps for a sequel as well. Also REC 3 is in development as well.

Quarantine was alright (the chick from Dexter was in it :thumbsu:). Wasn't too scary, but I found it really interesting how there's pretty much no script, it was just improvising.

Some good camera work though.
