View Full Version : Queen - Best 80's Album
and Which album do you think was Queen's best in the 80's.
This excludes Live Magic and Live Wembley 86'
my favourite is The Miracle
Tracks 3 - 6 (The Miracle, I Want It All, The Invisible Man, Breakthru) is close to the best sequence of songs on any album outside of Live albums and greatest hits and reproductions etc,. etc,.
also aware that innuendo was '91 but it more or less is 80's for the purpose of the two polls.

Liked their 70's work better, so on that score I'll go for The Game.

The Game represents the end of their creative peak, IMO. Although Hot Space did yield "Under Pressure".
Up to that point, they had a strictly enfored "No Synthesisers" rule. They broke it for The Game, then they went a step further on Hot Space and the Works and started bringing in the Linn drum machines and the Fairlight computers and it was all downhill. Although they grew out of that phase and went back to the basics and did some okay stuff. "I Want It All" is a good song.

'Flash' is HUGELY underrated!! Fave (non-80's) Queen albums: Sheer Heart Attack/ Day At The Races/Queen 2. If you haven't heard 'em, "do yourself a favour".

I'd go The Game, good from start to finish, most of the other albums have weakspots. Hot Space was crap, I'd listen to it the least of all the Queen albums. Also in regards to the Miracle, Scandal and Was it all worth it are good songs on a bassy system.
Yes it was a worthwhile experience.

The Game is a fantastic album with some of my favorite Queen songs on it, such as 'Dragon Attack', 'Sail Away Sweet Sister' etc.
A Kind of Magic is also one of my favorite Queen albums.
