Death to all those female vocalists with that incredibly annoying girly little squeal, I say. Remember Angie Hart from Frente? Almost made me destroy several radios and TVs.

Album of the year? Give me a break. The best couple of OZ albums this year weren't even nominated!

Oi! I won't hear a word against Kasey Chambers!

OR Angie Hart :D

Obviously, to each their own.

How can some bands be known as Best New Artist? George have been playing the club scene up here in Brisbane for years (they even mentioned it when the won their award)

And all the bands that have been played on Triple J for ages:

Grinspoon (UnEarthed winners)
Killing Heidi (UnEarthed winners)
Alex Lloyd
silverchair
1200 Techniques
George

All these bands have now hit the mainstream, and being claimed by the mainstream audiences. At least Alex Lloyd thanked JJJ for starting him.

I also want to know how John Butler wound up playing guitar for Kasey Chambers. But of a contrast of styles there?

On a sour note, Poor old Holly.

No Awards.
No Singing.
No Idea.:D

Holly Valance is useless... should go back to Ramsay Street.

After raving on and building up her "first Australian performance" for the past few weeks, the least she could do is SING.

Her mime-job put Marcell Marceau to shame.

Kylie...what a legend. She seems to do everything right.

Holly has a lot to learn from the QUEEN!

I don't like ballads, but Kasey just melts me.

I never knew how much Kasey Chambers sounds like Cindy Lauper. Almost identical!

As I said somewhere else, as lovely as she is, she has a voice like a cat being strangled. Most of the song was OK, but I was cowering in the corner during the chorus.

Her voice IS a funny one. It's not what you would call a classically good singing voice, but I like it. Has character and I like it much more than some others who insist on performing vocal gymnastics with their voices *coughshakiracough*

KC writes a pretty song though, and I think that's really her biggest strength.

(on the downside.. I bought her new DVD yesterday and in some of the old home video/interview segments, she's wearing a Carlton jumper. Ick.)

This is going to put me in alot of pooh, but i feel i need to state my opinion re the ARIAs:

I do not classify Kylie Minogue's Fever, The Vines or Holly Valance's album as Australian. Being recorded in England and having all publicity in England, i deem those to be English releases. Yes they are Australian citizens, and congratulations to them for cracking the English market, but to use Australian recording techniques and marketing people is to me worthy of an ARIA. How can Kasey Chambers (who i am not a fan of) compete with a million dollar recording with English pop (crap) techniques.

Congratulations to George and in particular Alex Lloyd and Silverchair for recording their albums (correct me if i'm wrong) in Australia and using Australian people to market and record their ripper songs.:D

Motor Ace recorded in either Melbourne or Sydney IIRC.

How Silverchair didn't win album of the year is beyond me. I hate them, always have, always will. But Diorama was a very good album IMHO.

Daniel Johns is supposed to be 'happy' now, right? I'd hate to see him when he's depressed. Bloody hell, you're filthy rich, you're doing the bad thing with Natalie Imbrugliaglaiailaialia, crack a smile you sad bastard!

Lovely observation.

Watching it last night, and my girlfriend says "Ohh look, poor guy, don't you feel sorry for him?"

Any bloke who gets touched in naughty places by that piece of work, and then sleeps it off in a rather large house, doesn't need/want/deserve my sympathy.

I was really impressed with George, and the thing that annoys me, is that lead singer, the girl, she has an absolutely magic voice, but because she doesn't look like Britney or Kylie or Holly, she doesn't get the recognition she deserves.

Yeah... she's great. You're right though... I couldn't even tell you her name.

She's just... "her from George"

Yeah dosen't she live in England now plus that pommy accent you may as well say she's english.

She only comes back here to her "home" when she makes a fair buck, and people still suck up to her.

People will not like what I just said well stiff s***

I wouldn't say no to her.. I'd just switch out the lights and ask her to sing to me, her voice makes me melt. She's amazing.

Rack off loser. Give me one good reason why she should live here, considering shes been snubbed by the Australian Music Industry for the last 14 years.

Why people have such a problem with artists moving overseas to firther their careers is beyond me, you're f*cked in the head.

ONJ is in her 50s and I still wouldn't kick her out of bed for farting, she is one gorgeous lady. I would take her over her daughter in a heartbeat, Chloe looks like her dad and that is way scary.
