Now this should be fun... so we have already selected our best 18... what about next week we start to pick another North team... but we are not allowed to select anyone who is already picked in our Greatest 18...

This should test the brains of us all... we can do it position by position again...

so next week I will start it up... unless people hate the idea...

CIK has to find a new CHF... now wont that be interesting...

In the words of Sly Stallone in Cliffhanger (and just about every other film) :
"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooo......"

Gawd, I've done enough thinking for the last few weeks - shit, I've even started a "best of" topic that I haven't been attending to. I need more Guinness and more guarana drinks...ask me about it in an hour or so http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif.

Sorry guys, in light of my guarana-inspired high, I made last-minute plans last night and went to Colonial to watch Geelong flash a graphic close-up browneye at Essendon.
As for who suggested I go to the game, you could say I was trapped in a web of sorts http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif.
My hour's notice should start now.

To make things less complicated, I will do a team of 22 + coach, just to keep my word. If a second lot of voting is started, I will go along with whatever voting system is put in place by our esteemed arbitrator(s).

First 22, as voted :
B : Archer, Dench, Henshaw
HB : Blakey, Glendinning, Cresswell
C : Greig (dvc), Stevens, Schimmelbusch (vc)
HF : Kekovich, God (c), Briedis
F : J.Krakouer, Longmire, P.Krakouer
R : Dempsey, Blight, Cable
IC : M.Martyn, Schwass, Teasdale, Foote
EM : Larkin, King, Aylett

I'm using the 3 emergencies in the second team.

B : R.Smith, McCann, Fairley
HB : Pickett, Steward, Sholl
C : King, Larkin, L.Dwyer
HF : B.Allison, McKernan, German??/Jonas??
F : Roberts, J.Spencer, Dugdale
R : Nolan, B.Davis, Aylett

Shit I need help with this...

Now that looked pretty easy Darky... but no Barker or Hardy... now now...

Despite the legendary status of Barker, Hardy and Rawle from North's VFA days, I tried to pick the best of our VFL/AFL players. Barker played only 9 VFL games for North Melbourne (59 with other clubs), Hardy none (36 with Essendon) and Rawle none (19 with Essendon).
Johnny Lewis was apparently regarded as one of the best players in the VFL in the last 20s and early 30s, so he should be in there somewhere, but I'm not sure where he would have been best suited. Similarly, a lot of players from the 40s and 50s didn't get a mention because I was unsure of a few things, and their reputations may not have preceded them like those of Cable, Teasdale, Blight etc.

I also notice no-one else has been game to have a crack at it... http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif
