From 35eye's AGM report (which was excellent

*Admin HQ Decision
The condition of the Arden Street Offices are considered an embarrassment. Its not viable to redevelop there. So what to do? Relocate? Stay?

Where would we relocate to? Why is it not viable to redevelop Arden St. What are the alternatives?

Develop a new training/social complex on a green field site in the outer suburbs such as the outer North West - hardly practical, who would drive out there, if you didn't live there.

Move the admin to the MCG - I think its allready taken and would mean having the training facilities/admin separated.

Relocate interstate? Ouch

It seems to me the only viable option is to raze the Arden St complex to the ground and start again, but where is the 5 million (my guess)going to come from. I don't think we even own the soil the buildings are on anyway.

Do they have to take part in some sort of joint commercial/apartment complex to raise the funds?

If the administration can redevelop the Arden St site then the sun shall forever shine from there proverbials.

I think you're right, it is council land.

This is a hard one the heart says stay and the head says find a new home . Lets face it some local 4th division clubs have better facilities than us . But in saying that having the flash weight rooms and the full glass office does that put goals on the board. I personaly dont think so.

If it needs a coat of paint - paint it.
If its broken - fix it.
If it still works - why change it?

Choppyhard, we do in fact have an office at the MCG, it's the marketing department.

I guess due to size restrictions they cannot be at Arden Street.

I'm in two minds over this one, yes I think they should at least upgrade the offices and gym at Arden Street, but where is the dosh going to come from?

I am not embarassed by Arden Street, I know that is is old and needs updating, but what is embarassing about it. It is a good old traditional football club, one that you can walk around and bump into players, staff etc. Many is the time that I bumped into Ron Casey, had the door held open by Denis Pagan, said hello to Greg Miller or David King. This is the one thing that I love about our club, we are not in big fancy buildings where you go in one door, the coaches staff etc in another, no, I will be sad the day we move away from there and I am certainly not embarassed in fact I know others who are jealous of our Arden Street.
