Looking through their "news" articles there is a story "Watson found guilty in elbow incident".

I must have missed that one I could have sworn that he was the one who was elbowed.

It's like a new report claiming a murder victim has been found guilty of murder.

People who may not have watched the incident and just read the headlines would assume that Watson had elbowed some-one.

Cricinfo - you suck

They were both found guilty. Watson baulked a hand in fron of gambhir's face as he was running down the wicket and on the way back gambhir stuck his elbow out.

Watson was fined 10% of his match fee
Gambhir was suspended for 1 test match.

Your first post in the cricket forum is that? hmmmmmmm

As above, is like if you got pulled over for speeding and the cop beat you up, there was an inquiry that found you were speeding, the article wouldn't be "bradesmaen found guilty in cop beating" would it?

the bcci is full of fully illetrate thugs, ganguly got suspended for several matches in 2004 but eventually was let off with the ban being over turned, similar thing happened with the biggest toxic obnoxious dirty weed harbhajan singh and a similar thing would happen now, i am right now not having tv access untill evening but u know be rest assured, the illetrate indian public is already burning effegies, i was watching tv in the morning and every body on indian tv said that watson should have been given a ban and gambhir was right, here in india the attitude is always us vs them and they say that it is right to defend an indian no matter what.

they are making a mockery of aussie cricketers on tv here in india, calling them cry babies and cheats.

No.. I've posted here ages ago and during cricket season. Also.. thats vastly different use of words there. Check the use of the word incident troll.

you could consider actually spelling the word 'illiterate' the right way if you're going to make that accusation, 'champ'

Ok,

"Bradesman found guilty in cop beating incident"

Please explain how the adding of the word incident significantly changed the context of that statement?

It is a trend DT, they have been getting progressively more pro India as time goes by. I remember when it was strictly neutral - that was one of it's main points of difference to most cricket sites.

The commentary in the first 2 Test was unabashedly pro Indian, to the point of being provocative in the comments made about umpiring decision and player behaviour.

This thread is an example of more of this stuff. So no it is not trivial, everyone follows cricket on Cricinfo.

However the commentary in this Test has been pretty neutral. Which is good.

well for starters, it doesn't automatically mean I beat a cop.. also you'll see the noun isn't in use in the Cricinfo title. It just says "elbow incident" not "Gambhir elbowing incident" does it now?

They just called the day for India on cricinfo - 4 wickets for 300 odd runs is apparantly a win for india.

I still don't understand why people are so confused.

Cricinfo is essentially India's cricket website. That's where the bulk of their revenue comes from so naturally they'll edge on their side. Go to cricket.com.au for australian stuff, just as good coverage.

And good on indian tv for calling us cry babies and cheats, bringing hypocricy to the most alarmingly hilarious degree. We're the best and still are, so they can suck it the f##k up and say what they like.

There is an interesting transcript on cricinfo about the media coverage in cricket and bias and what not.

Really quite interesting.

Peter Roebuck and Harsha Boogle (sp) feature in the interview and they talk about the SCG incident last year and how each country covered the incident and bias and what not.

the bigger issue is that cricinfo is incredibly biased against Australians..

dont want this to sound like a bitch but the market they aim for is the indian one no doubt, so they would suck up to them i bet.

whatever happened to baggygreen?

obviously, but its a bit ironic that someone who was accusing another party of being illiterate can't spell the word himself. and amusing. it kind of undermines his point.

1 Billion vs 20 Million? What would be your target audience? It's just good business. I don't bother reading the opinions on there now, just use it for reference

yeah i totally agree.

1.1 billion reasons for cricinfo to be biased, but it doesnt read well from an aussie perspective.

Indian cricket fans are bias morons who beleive their players never do anything wrong. Even now they are saying Gambhir's suspension was racially motivated.

also, in another incident, several indian players were banned for several matches in south africa but all those bans got overturned

the only two reasons why i support australia and not india are-

1)i am sick of the hype in india

2)i like the aussie style

Only one example of racism in the 3 Trillion 948 billion 290 million 482 thousand and 903 other examples throughout the world. Thats some pretty good stats right there.

Plenty of players have copped racial abuse in India, it has been well documented. Players have been racially abused in Australia also, the difference is we think it's not acceptable and try to do something about it so that guests playing sport in our country are not subjected to this kind of rubbish. The issue is not taken seriously in India, indicating that it may be an acceptable part of the culture.
