Where did he go?
He hasn't played a test since New Zealand in 2000.
Wisden Cricket of the year in 1997.

That's a very good question. Mushtaq was a very tidy leg spinner. Perhaps he was dropped from the Pakistan team for refusing to participate in match fixing :D

Further to my above comment (which was made in jest), I do recall that Mushtaq Ahmed was one of the players fined and suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board for takinbg part in match fixing. Perhaps he just never bowled well enough to regain selection once the suspension was lifted.
I also believe he is playing for Sussex in the English County Cricket competition.

Nah, he played a couple of games for Surrey when Saqlain Mushtaq was unavailable and got **** carted then replaced by Saqlan when he was available again.
carves up in the Pakistan National Comp for the National Bank of Pakistan - led them to the permiership in the Patrons Trophy (one of their 2 FC tournaments).

After bowling very well in the mid-1990s, fell away in effectiveness and was overtaken by Saqlain Mushtaq as Pakistan's leading spinner.
In his last three Tests against Australia (two in Pakistan in 1998, one in Australia in 1999), he was carted and looked a spent force.
