McGrath & Gillespie would go close, but the Windies attack would have to be the winner.
Surely England have a better attack in history than that four.

If we added Bruce Reid to Lillee and Thomson, that would have been sensational.
For the two years Thommo was at his brutal best (pre-shoulder), I'd have to go for Lillee, Thomson, Walker.
West Indies quicks usually bowled as a foresome rather than a trio.

Did Bruce Reid ever play with Lillee and Thomson (real question)? I'm talking bowlers who played together.

No he didn't. I'm pretty sure Reid debuted in 85, a year after Lillee retired.
For me the Windies: Marshall, Garner, Holding, and throw in your pick of Roberts / Walsh / Ambrose / Patterson depending on what year of the 80's you look at.
On a couple of occasions Pakistan played a pretty handy attack was Wasim-Waqar-Imran-Aqib.

Hilfenhaus, Geeves, Denton, McDonald.
More seriously, I haven't really seen the West Indians who are always said to be the greatest, but McGrath, Gillespie and Kasprowicz were pretty awesome. Of course they had Warney backing them up though.

Marshall Garner Holding walsh (84-85)
or
Marshall Ambrose Patterson Walsh (91 and prior)
Ambrose started when Holding was going out, and he never played with Garner. was too young to remember Roberts or Croft, but im sure they wouldve been quiet handy
Just saw this quarter played together:
Ambrose-Marshall-Walsh-Bishop
That's awesome.

The first option mentioned in the OP.
