View Full Version : Our Bench
It appears our best 18 are
Pickett McCartney Archer
Blakey Colbert Makepeace
King Stevens Rawlings
Abraham Carey Grant
Simpson Rocca S.Motlop
McKernan Sinclair
Harvey
Apologies to Mick who cant, either get on the ground ,or stay there.
Should the Bench be:
Cochrane Lange Clayton Burton
OR
Harris Watt D.Smith Petrie

I can't find much to disagree with there, though I would have Clayton for Rawlings.(Lesser of two evils)
I agree with your observation on Mick; I think he is playing his last season. I like the look of Harris, D.Smith and Lange, but Lange seems to be a player who needs to start on the ground and stay there. He will never succeed playing off the bench. He is probably playing his last season too. I look forward to seeing the "other" Smith too.

Not sure about McCartney at full back but theres probably no other option.
Maybe Mick has gone one season to many. Your second line is the one we would all like to see but it will probably be a mixture of the two.

CIK
Creator included McKernan in the team and you have nothing to say about that?
It's hard to tell who to put on the bench though. I'd like to see some senior games from Daniel Motlop and Drew Petrie.
Daniel Motlop looked very impressive once again in the VFL practice match today I hope he can build himself up a little more to add some physical strength, without losing his ability to move so gracefully and evasively. Definitely has the look of quite a special player.
My team is a little different :
Archer Martyn Pickett
Blakey McCartney Colbert
Rawlings Simpson King
Abraham Carey S. Motlop
L. Smith Rocca Grant
McKernan Stevens Harvey
Smith Harris Sinclair Makepeace Watt
I can't really split the five on the bench. We need another tall and I'll go Watt for now.
Lange has no hope of making the team, he is short (for a key), slow and has played three woeful games, he doesn't makethe grade.
McKernan's performance has been below par. He can't hold his marks so he he not much value there especially in the forward line.
His ruck work leaves a lot to be desired, as a lot of his 'thumps' went straight to the opposition.
If Petrie and L. Smith continue to show promise as expected, McKernan would need to show immence improvement, or he will be trade bait at the end of the year. That will please CIK.
