Livid was awesome, terrific day

I saw:
Superheist - pretty ordinary, that diognified rage song was the only one i liked
Motor Ace - I don't mind them but I was a bit disappointed in them today
Something for Kate - really good, a lot better then I expected. Surprise of the day
Grinsppon - not a big fan of their music, but they are awesome live. The crowd went spastic
Oasis - terrific, sounded awesome. Just wish they had played Wonderwall, Champagne Supanova, Supersonic, Roll with it and Live forever. Still easily the best part of the day
Powderfinger - I am a fan of theirs but tonight they were nothing special. Bit disappointing

Just woke up with a killer hang-over, but here's my review.
I saw:
Superheist - I liked the set, there were better ones though. I was front row for it, so when the lead singer was walking up and down the crowd he hugged me and this gal next to me for some reason?? But I did get to sing into the mic which was good.
Seraphs Coal - Don't know much about them, wasn't in the pit either, just up in the stand.
Dropkick Murphy's - Great live band, was near the front of the pit in the center which was a great view.
...Trail of the Dead - Awesome live band, one of the best for the day, even though their stage room was limited due to Grinspoons stuff being set up at the back. The bass guitarist broke his guitar, through the neck into the crowd, then wiped the blood from the cut on his finger on the rest and gavethat to the crowd as well.
One Dollar Short - Saw the last 2 songs only, ran down into the pit, it was alright, but I'mnot a huge fan of theirs.

Then me and some mates got a passout, and I can't remember that much of the rest of the day. :D

Grinspoon - Huge fan of Grinspoon's, great set, I did leave early though to see TINC.
TINC - I think I saw most of their set, was definitely in the mosh pit, I remember them as being pretty good.
Rocket From the Crypt - Can't really remember it except that I was in the stand for them.
Body Jar - I had body jar written on my forehead, so I knew who I was there to see. They went off, great set.
Sum 41 - Didn't stay to watch their full set as I don't like them that much, played a few good songs I think.
Unwritten Law - Great way to finish the night, good solid set, even if the mics kept stuffing up.

How anyone headlined over Oasis is beyond me. They shat every other band I saw.

Motor Ace were ok, didn't like any other bands.

Although I must admit, being stuck right at the front during Grinspoon was different. Got hit in the hit by about 5 bottles, 3 shoes and somehow during the mosh ended right up the back after a massive surge forward. I have no ****ing idea why either. Don't really like their music, but as B954 said, they went off.

For some reason I went to watch unwritten law, who are ****. Just stood on stage for 2 minutes calling the crowd a pack of "mother fu*kers" They did one ok song, which sounded like a Faith No More song then the lead singer of grinspoon re appeared completely ****ed falling over his own feet.

Yet again another fine performance by the lads from Manchester. Oasis you were sensational.Special mentions Something for Kate and Grinspoon.

International Noise Conspiracy were ace! Man that band knows how to put on a show. Gerling managed to get the crowd groovin along, and promised a new album soon to!

Don't know if they are the best, but they are bloody good all the same! One of the guys I went with was a huge Dropkick Murphy's fan, and if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have seen them, glad I did though!

I think I saw you!!!

I actually really enjoyed livid - got to see a lot of bands that I'd never seen before. I spent the whole day running between Loudmouth and the mainstage which paid off coz i managed to get front row possies for Grinspoon, bodyjar, and sum41. Didn't see Oasis - oh well!

Bodyjar started with two of their oldies so I was stoked!

Couldn't believe how many fans Dropkick Murphy have - had never heard of them before Saturday but the kids seem to like them! hey, they had cool t-shirts too!

Sum 41 are showponies - enter the teeny bopper element - I was surrounded by screaming 14 year old girls! I was so distressed that they'd put sum41 on at the same time as Powderfinger and John Butler Trio. But I had predicted that Sum41 would finish early so I sprinted out to see the rest of Powderfinger.

Was a real nightmare trying to get back in for unwritten law but it was great watching it from the stands. My god they had the pit going! Fantastic viewing there!

Unlike what some of the others said - I really enjoyed Motorace. I'd never seen them before and I thought they did it well.

Highlight? Definately Grinspoon. I was really stoked coz they played the oldies like Just Ace, Black Friday, More than you Are, Champion, Ready 1 and Secrets, as well as Chemical Heart and Lost Control and other tracks of the new album. Phil was off his face though! I was amazed that he a) stayed standing and b) remembered the lyrics and c) sang so amazingly well live. Thought their rendition of Don't Change by INXS was unreal. I have been listening to my Grinspoon CDs for the last 4 days straight :D

I'm looking forward to next year with great anticipation!

I don't think I've ever seen Phil perform sober. Was he doing his usual robot-like dancing?
